  1. I asked my local cobbler here if he could get me one a few years back for my Rodi and he said it would cost €60, I like you did not want to cough up €60 because i am not a cobbler and do not skive welts etc. so i kept an eye out on the net and a few months later found a unused one on Ebay for.......€15.
  2. Hi Glenn, That looks like a difficult one to find?? have you tried contacting the Singer museum in Scotland?? you don´t by any chance have a picture of a original binder foot setup used on the 29k?? it is hard to make out in the parts manual with only the birds eye view.
  3. This link is a must for anyone looking for information on these machines....https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollections/Trade-Literature/Sewing-Machines/CF/single-record.cfm?AuthorizedCompany=Singer Manufacturing Company Just click on "HTML Page or PDF Available" some have loads of pages of info!!
  4. Just for anyone wanting to know about the machine dates, I asked the owner of the Singer 45k33 in the picture above, with the kick foot, the serial number and it was made in 1906 and was probably it´s last run of production before this class was obsolete and superseded by the 45k58 (which was the 45ksv51) and the cylinder type 45k31 was also stopped and superseded by the 45k56 (which was the 45ksv50). Thanks to the Smithsonian site and it´s great information we know this. The catalouge is dated 1907.
  5. Hi, If it is broken inside then you will have to get a small drill and drill a hole in the middle of the broken part, then either hammer in a small blade screwdriver in the hole and screw it out or use a screw extractor. It is a delicate job because if you hit the outer wall you will ruin the original thread. Saying that if you get to that stage then you could just tap it again with another thread used on other generic thread guides. If the broken part is loose, then super glue a small stick to it and try to screw it out? https://www.ebay.de/itm/Pfaff-141-145-Fadenstift-Fadenfuhrung-oben-9075/303543015212?hash=item46ac92d72c:g:UFYAAOSw3e5embf8
  6. The 46ksv49 looks close to the 46k29,30,54 parts wise but not all ??? It looks like your tension stud could be sheared off on one side?? the long guide on the right hand side for the thread is there and the looper looks like it gets threaded also, so i think that is for two threads like you said tmoffitt. The 46kSV models seemed to be registered until about 46ksv29 at the Kilbowie Clydebank factory when the class numbers made at that time (c1907) went to 46k41, your machine is from 1951, until about 1917 you can find some specific models that were made (Ismacs) but after that, the reference was just the kind of stitch it performed...Pique,Prix seam,Surg. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi,I will try to upload a few pictures of it anvilring, these were meant to sew from hosiery, fur, leather to straw hats depending on the class model... This is two pieces of veg tan 1mm thick each..
  8. https://www.supsew.com/download/Sewing Specifications & Technical Information/Singer Needles by Machine Class chart.pdf Hi, Maybe you saw the post about Alexitbe´s 46k15 i think it was??? The normal 46k49 takes the 215x15 but your´s is the SV model so you will need a different needle. Here you will find a needle chart of the various Singer models including the SV versions and it would seem you need a 1034-01 needle for your machine. I don´t know how much difference their is in length compared to the 215x15 needles but would imagine you could possibly move the needle bar to accommodate it??? I also got some 215 needles from them and the shank is thicker compared to the original singer ones i have, but they still fit. By the way, i think you got that tension spring on wrong there?? have a look at these pictures.. Here is a manual for setting up and adjusting the needle, tension, looper etc.... 46K48_K49.pdf
  9. OH, Good to know Dunluce, Could you let me know if you manage to get a skin from them, Cheers.
  10. Alran??? rings a bell, i think they only sell in larger quantities and not single skins?? but i could be wrong??
  11. So, Is that you cheating Wiz???? Do i see a domestic machine motor mounted on the back???
  12. Well i´am sure you can get them a lot cheaper than €1K!!! Good luck with the machine Con.
  13. Ahhh...I think you need the other little Junker & Ruh then, that does the blake stitch????right..they are harder to find....
  14. sorry wiz, i only have 15 left!!!! ikes.....
  15. I think maybe they are referring to what Folker is saying?? If the arm is 20mm thick and if that is the bobbins hanging on the arm of the machine then it is not going to hold a lot of 1mm thick linen that you want??? Just if you were wondering the Frobana uses size 3,4 and 5 needles, nº5 having a 1mm eye (just measured it ) and the needle for that is Syst. 761 PG L.
  16. Same as almost anything "Industrial" these days, for every 4 stools there must have been a industrial lamp....Lol.. and they have gone sky high also....
  17. Its a pity they pulled the buildings down, they could have made flats from them like the jute mills in Dundee??
  18. More than likely Bert... Maye because the foot pedals are missing from the wooden plank on the floor? Your welcome....
  19. Hi, Sounds like maybe your needle has moved to the side?? Do you have the manual for your machine? have you checked where the needle is when the hook of the shuttle comes around??
  20. Nice pictures Folker, Yes, looks very similar to the Singer ones, there were a few types i think. They would be good for the Singer museum maybe?? The only thing missing from the Durkopp setup in the museum is the original stools??
  21. This one is for all you Singer freaks that have a spare €1000 and who live in France or near by. You do not see many of these on sale as many Leather/Fabric shops or larger factory´s from way back are long gone and closed. This seems to have survived intact with main shaft and clutches! I have to admit if i had the space or a shop that would be in it!!!! Drool on..... And here are a couple of older machines...... This set up looks like it was for pamphlet sewing, it needs a couple of parts by the looks of it?? no more detailed pictures i am afraid, but it looks like a Singer 45k50.(flat bed version of the 45k52) So that means it could be very old but looks like it is in excellent condition by looking at all of the original decals still intact. It has the driving attachment on it. Parts must be pretty rare for this one....Once again...in France. And here is one more from here in Spain... Not very common at all the 45k33 was obsolete possibly around the very early 1900´s (1905-7??) superseeded by the 45k58, as was the cylinder bed version, the 45k31 obsolete and superseeded by the 45k56, Looks like the Adler 104 (105 being the 45k31) or should i say the 104 looks like the 45k33? well Adler seems to have started with Koch in the 1920,s and this class had been obsolete and superseeded by Singer 20 yrs before???
