Hi Arturo, I have used contact cement on oily leather and can say that it will hold it in place long enough to sew the parts together (most of the time) but will not hold them together for long. Hope this helps?

I don´t know if this is any help to you as Brian has covered it basically with his crafty jig Lol... you might get some ideas??? It is basically and adapter and a quick change method instead of unscrewing each time?? Normally the top shaft is a bit lower but i have moved them a little further up.

Hi Bert, these guides are in almost all of the 45k parts manuals
-
Hi Courtny, I am not sure if there are swing down guides for the 45k machines, i have one on my Pfaff 335, but remember if you do find one to fit you have to drill and tap the holes in the back of the machine. There seems to me like a very limited amount of space at the back of the 45k head and that is probably why they do not have them.

Nice one Soren, glad you got it apart ok.

Woooo! That´s a biggy, I asume you didn´t buy that one for putting on snaps...

Yes that will need replacing, and as you can see that is not helping with the feeding. I would get the new foot also and see if these two solve your problems before changing your feed motion lever. Normally when the feed motion is worn the ring where it revolves in is usually worn also.

Way to go jeannie
-
I think also from the pictures the foot looks very worn, That is probably the main reason it is not pulling the leather through??
-
If the foot is worn then it will not feed properly but it sounds like it could be something else??do you have another foot to try?? could you send some pictures here of the thread path and the foot area?? or better still a short video of it sewing??

A picture of the machine is always the best way to go. front and back, but sounds like if it sews cloth and not thick leather then you might need to check the wing nut at the back where it says L M H. This is for Light medium and heavy, if you can sew thin cloth but not leather chances are you have it on L? if so change it to L or H?

HI Brian, Sorry no, i never asked as i did not need one but you could ask here if they sell them? https://www.power-shoe.com/en It looks like they still make that model so i imagine they must have parts for them. it is the model AFL 85 on their web page and you can also download a manual for it. Good luck, Jimi.

You can email them and ask if they have the junkers needles Glenn, or they might know where to get them: https://www.power-shoe.com/en I was quoted €9.85 in 2014 for the Frobana ones. Good luck.

Hi Courtney, The one you have in the picture is by the looks of it ,made up, even the needle plate as the screws do not sit proud of the plate, they are level with the plate. The original setup for your machine would have been something like this: The other option was a rounded end but no roller: There were also the combination guide which if your specialty is belts might come in handy for you if you can find one: There were an array of guides for many different functions but mostly for the 45K89 class machine, the following are for the flatbed 45k1 etc. the black ones are from a Adler 4 or 5 so they fit the Singers also but not their screws for fixing them to the plate, singers have a different thread. There was also a swing guide that could fit on the 45k25 also. This one is user made but if you find one be sure to get the screw that holds it on to the arm. They can be very hard to find so you might consider making one, you will need two needle plate screws for the fixed side plate type or one larger screw ( i think it has the same thread as the oil pot screw) for the swing type, and two thumbscrews for fixing the guide.Try Ebay now and again as they do pop up from time to time or member Constabulary here as he has things like this for sale now and again.

No Problem Glenn. I have an email somewhere from a company in Holland who sell´s the Frobana needles, they might have the junkers ones too?? If i can remember correctly the needles were €9.50 each and that was a couple of years ago. I will have a look tomorrow. Jimi.

Party pooper I think ferryman is going to hate your guts for that one!

I meant the parts manual so you could see the type of feet and binders that the 335 type machine uses, they might still be making variations? Subclass Old C 3.pdf335 H3 Subclass Old C 4.pdf335 H3 Subclass Old C 5.pdf335 H3 Subclass Old C 6.pdf335 H3 Subclass Old C 7.pdf335 H3

I have just set up the old one so you can see the setup. If you need a parts manual for the 335 let me know, i have it in PDF. Ohps! I went a bit off at the end Lol... i had to wing it by hand as there is no motor on this machine yet.... I think folker does a better job than me

Very Interesting Folker, Thanks for the detective work , and is it the photo or does the one on the left have a bigger/thicker end???? -
Wow, nice... well you know what they say "necessity is the mother of invention" Lol... your very crafty jeannie, that will keep you going for a while now, at least to get some practice in. As Folker said, the corners are the hard ones because if you don´t get in near to the foot then you end up off the tape on a tight corner, so maybe don´t try it on a bag without trying to do some practice corners first. And also you might need another screw to hold the bracket at the back as the tape could pull the tip in towards the foot?? just a thought...
