  1. http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html In this link you will find the serial numbers/date chart for your machine, and the Original colour was japanned black with gold leaf acanthus decals. The class K models were made in Glasgow Scotland. If you go to the search box above and look for "Singer 29k Owners Manual" i am sure you will find one. If not let us know.
  2. From that picture looks like that pressure bar is bending a lot!!!
  3. Looks like you might need an L shaped piece of leather in the corner connecting the side panel to your strip??
  4. From the picture it is hard to see, i do not think you will find another one easily. if the teeth are very blunt then that is most likely the problem, you could try to file them a little and see if you can get a little more point to them but it could be hardened steel. A good small triangular file might get them a little sharper again to try and see if that is the problem. I am not familiar with the 18-3 feed dog setup, just the 18-2 but that is adjustable and like the normal feed dogs so it could be something else that is worn on your machine??
  5. Hi There, what are the teeth like on the feed dog wheel? #6497.
  6. I think they used that for glazing, it gets heated up then the edge of the sole gets waxed and then is glazed with it??
  7. I think you did not understand what jeff was saying??? he said meaning thanks for letting us now what the problem was, then he said there are a lot of people who do not do that (come back and tell what the problem was after asking advice here), he was not referring to you carlos.
  8. Good to hear that you got the problem solved Carlos
  9. Great job Folker, looks very very nice, and i would give that a 9/10 for a preservation/restoration job, you just need that decal for it to be a 10/10 just kidding......10/10
  10. Hey Folker, you do a very good job on your machines and even the silver ones look great! Anyway you will have to use up all that silver paint before it dries up...
  11. Yes the Curvature I must say up until now most parts that i have got from there have been usable, just the holes needed filed a little, this one was cheap so i got what i payed for... A whole machine could be someones nightmare if it all goes wrong....
  12. Even parts!! this is from Aliexpress!!! wrong size completely, rusted and the rear foot has a smaller hole which the screw does not fit. so really the only thing that went good was the front foot, and the needle plate only fits this feed dog!! They might have got it mixed up with an Adler 69
  13. Carlos, I think you have the screws possibly in too tight?
  14. Thanks for the info bcraig, let me know how you get on with the waxing of your holster.
  15. Ok bcraig, but i would not advise you stick your fingers in the liquid wax...
  16. So what are you adding to your beeswax to apply it?? You need to add something to get it to a paste like consistency to apply? No?? Turps, spirit??
  17. Hi there, Try holding the rivet with a pair of pliers while drilling the rivet?
  18. Hey Mark, looks like we sent the same thoughts at the same time
  19. Maybe try and take out the shuttle and see if there is anything in the race to obstruct then put a little oil there in the race and see if it is better? I think where your arrow is that is normal that it hits there depending on which way it is rocking, pushing the hook back will hit where the hook is like in your picture, then pushing the hook forward will hit where you have your arrow. you might have some thread stuck in the race??
  20. Hola Carlos, probaste aflojando un poco los dos tornillos cada lado que sujeta la lanzadera, los dos grandes en la foto?
  21. Hi, The top and bottom feed machines i think are aimed at heavy leathers and rubber, they come with a roller on the top feed so disconnecting wont do much and as for normal feet i think there is an option for that but i do not know the price. I am almost sure you cannot fit the normal feet (as in the bottom feed skivers only)on it, it has to be one compatible with the top feed setup if i can remember correctly. I will try to find some images later....must go.
  22. Hi, I think probably the most common industrial ones would be the Singer class 31-17 or 18, Singer 112W140 which has 2 needles and a roller foot or the small cylinder arm class 17 and 18 which were for sewing vamps also. I am sure Consew,Juki etc made copy's but you would have to compare pictures from the net.
  23. I'am sure there was someone on here from the Osborne company a little while back??? He might show up again??
  24. Hi, I have not done a lot of edge painting but I would try painting your edge on a non beveled one, at least Giardini recommends this for their edge paint. I have a couple of bottles of their paint and tried both ways and find when i do paint the edge it is not beveled otherwise i am running around the bevel trying to find the line to stop!!!
