  1. Here in Spain Waldes has this option, and Prym would have this available too. Instead of the cap/dome you can get the invisible one which is called blind cap. Like Brain said you would need the die for it. Another option is take your pliers and take off the cap, it comes in two parts but the post might not be as rigid as the ones used for this purpose, then hammer on a flat surface to set it. Also you will need to sand the edges a little as they come rough. Unfortunately Waldes only sell boxes of 1000 i think? Here is a old wallet i opened to see what was inside, this is a Prym 2 snap. It still leaves a small mark after time.
  2. Ehmmm....???? Akai GX-620
  3. I think you could get away doing this with a good patcher as you are not wanting to side wall stitch but only add the patch on top of the canvas as in the photo. Take a pair of vans and the patches to a shoe menders first and ask him to sew them on, then you could see how it would turn out. (After a lot of practice like rocky said) or you could even get him to sew them on for you instead of buying a machine??
  4. Could be interesting for anyone in the UK?? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INDUSTRIAL-SEWING-MACHINE-HEADS-PFAFF-335-CYLINDER-ARM-PFAFF-471-POST-BED/173879722393?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170920101022%26meid%3Df565f029d8944b92b0736dfeb696a452%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D332723377847%26itm%3D173879722393&_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109
  5. One, and thats´s enough for me and my tiny space...
  6. Very nice job with the restoration Soren, looks great!!
  7. The one in the video, yes but the one in the picture above i think is the same as yours. in the video the front of the head is different having the jump foot bar in the front like this adler 105.
  8. HI There, no idea what that white could be, but i reckon if you give the hide some saddle soap all over then it would most likely disappear.
  9. No it is not mine, i found it Googeling..
  10. Yakumo is the closest i can find to your model. Does your foot flick or does the needle feed on your machine??? This is a Yakumo DDU-N73 in the video but the foot flicks on this one?? https://store.beforward.jp/detail/Home-Electronics/Sewing-Machines/PA11207128/
  11. I think the nearest would have been the Singer 45B.here is a list of them and what they had. nearest would have been one with needle feed... http://www.industrialsewmachine.com/webdoc1/singer/45b.htm And here is one of the 45A class with normal wheel feed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Singer-45A93-Cylinder-Arm-Wheel-Feed-Heavy-Duty-Industrial-Sewing-Machine/273826074569?hash=item3fc14e4fc9:g:RbkAAOSwySlaNEZn
  12. I am not 100% sure but i would think all skins can be glazed again. the glazing machine uses a glass rod to burnish and glaze the skin, you might be able to do this by hand with a similar object or a piece of smooth edged glass held in between two pieces of wood, they call them slickers nowadays but the proper name is sleeker.
  13. I think you should save your money for a newer model (29k71,72,73 or 171,172,173) and that way if you do have to change parts then you know there available. The parts from college sewing are mainly for the 29k71 etc... newer models and i think you will find they will not fit your machine unless it has the same part number.
  14. Have a look on the other side where the round disk is and take the lid off, you might have the dies in there??
  15. That looks like it was done on a 3d printer?
  16. I am not sure of the model number but i think this is a nice needle feed machine, Seiko machines were made in Japan i believe and were well made also. The equivalent model would be something like a Adler 105.
  17. I think that setup with the adjustable top feed and that big plate was used for sewing sleeves onto jackets etc...
  18. At the moment i do slits, and some times one on top of the other skived at the edges like in the picture.(on the right hand side) you end up with a nice thin wallet and not a door step. you have to remember you are going to add cards and notes later.
  19. Like Rocky said a 50mm will fit but you might need to get the work plate for a 50mm feed wheel, (which is on the left side of your feed wheel) yours might be only for the 34mm feed wheel to fit? Maybe a picture or two of your machine would help.
  20. I ended up buying some parts from the one in Austria because the one in Spain had me going round and round in circles never giving me a price when i asked him...
  21. Hello Soren, the best thing is to post some pictures...
  22. Yes that is the one Danne http://www.sieck.de/en/machines/skiving/leather-goods-and-automotive-interieur/
  23. I don´t see your location so i don´t know which country you are in? UK maybe?? here are two links and both have the Fav parts, failing that you could ask the Fortuna service for prices, I do not think they would vary too much for a normal feed roll. Sieck also sell parts for Fortuna, FAv skivers. The Chinese type 801 feed wheels from Ali express are larger in diameter so you might have to file some metal on your skiver for them to work. Chuck (i think it was?) here on the forum, actually broke one where the two pins enter for engaging it to turn, It looked exactly like the 801 Ali express ones. http://www.fratellialberti.com/lang2/spare-parts.html https://www.campbell-randall.com/shop/fav-fratelli-alberti Found it....
