  1. Really nice piece of work, Tommy.. I love the design, the colours and the layout of the inside too..but most of all on such an appearance of depth, on such a thin leather..brilliant work.!! Regards Phil
  2. I agree with Bob and Bill too.. Clean lines and very pleasing to the eye.. Regards Phil
  3. LOL..You ARE playing with colours, aren't you.. I go out for a few hours, come back and everything is brown.!! Haha! Just so's you know, Johanna..some of the posts in different areas are still white for some reason and whilst I'm here typing, I've looked across and the 'More Reply Options' button text is hard to read, now it has a brown background.. The 'Post' button is fine, as its still white text on black.. Apart from that, its getting more homely in here already.!! Regards Phil
  4. Cheers for the reply Reaper..it's good to know I wasn't being totally dumb..just the normal level..lol Thankyou Johanna, I ran a small website a few years ago and appreciate the amount of work you've had to do with the change over, (though mine was on a smaller scale) and the fact that you don't know the little things which aren't working, til they're mentioned.. Keep it up and cheers for the reply.. Regards Phil
  5. Hi Reaper..I'm not sure, but it definitely should've been between the Report and Multiquote buttons..I've always been able to edit a post if I've gone back to it...I think... Is there a time limit on being able to edit your posts? Hi Bill..just a little niggle is all.. I just wanted to tweak one of my postings.. I'm sure it's either me, or something that'll get put right by the admins.. I should always read what I type before I hit enter..lol As my life is, this is one of the things I'm least stressed by..I can always walk away from the pc for a while I hope things are getting better for you..it's good to see you're still around on here anyway.. Cheers for the replies, guys.. Take care Phil
  6. I've posted replies this morning and I wish to edit the typos out of, at least one..lol I'm sure that there should be an 'edit' button near to the 'Report' Multiquote' and 'Quote' buttons, but its not there today.. Am I just going mad and looking in the wrong place or something?? lol Regards Phil
  7. Looking good Freehand..very tidy work.. Regards Phil
  8. LOL.. It is often said, that Necessity is the mother of Invention..turns out Laziness may be the father.?
  9. Real pretty..and I love the mix of flower sizes and types..it adds interest to the eye.. Regards Phil

    Bottle Cooler

Nice piece Reaper..It'll come in handy and having it on a belt loop keeps the hands free for making the fire.. Oh, by the way, the plant looks like, what is known as Honesty..my girlfriend is trying to grow some of it at the mo..and she's be real jealous of that vase full.. There's some good pics on Google images CC and from what I understand, they have their seeds in the transparent part.. Ahem...back on a leather related note, lol.. I'm sure your friend will love it Reaper.. Regards Phil
  11. Tidy seat..I bet the students will be real happy with it.. You'll be basket weaving EVERYTHING now I guess?? lol Regards Phil
  12. Hi Bluesman.. I'm sure you're not alone with the changes.. I came on and was surprised by them this morning..lol I'm finding my way round a bit now, but then again, it depends on which features you use most i guess.. I tend to just use the forum and occasionally pop into my profile if I want to quickly find out if there's any new comments on posts I've commented on already.. I'm missing the flags down the side of posts, cos I'm interested in where folk are in the real world, but its no biggy.. Just keep muddling through and if you're stuck, I'm sure someone will be happy to steer ya in the right direction.. Regards Phil
  13. LOL @ BDT You would hope so..i spose it depends on how busy the road was when you went back for the leather..
  14. Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaa...pictures... Good to finally see them..lol Loving the carved seats, Jimbob..it's obvious that you've spent a lot of time putting fine detail into them.. I especially like the first one, on the orange Yamaha.. The pic reminds me of a video game I used to play.. The last two pics, I guess show the chrome tanned leather.? I think the rear pad looks a little loose on the foam and could do with some rework.. I can't fault the piping and the stitching, but the front of that piece stands out more than it ought to..IMHO.. Besides that, some pretty nice work.!! (and with finally getting the pictures back up too..lol..) Regards Phil p.s. Just been on your website.. Wow, you do a lot of varied work.. Some really nice stuff..
  15. Hi Jeremiah.. The koi really looks great.. I like the style of the design and the way you've tooled it, very much.. What type of colouring did you use and did you use a resist before adding the dye? Regards Phil
  16. Errr... What David said...lol Carving could ALWAYS be deeper and the details could be crisper, when there's no pictures..
  17. Hi Volpert..I agree, the tooling is nice.. very crisp and well defined.. Did you use a petal lifter on the leaves to gain extra depth? What thickness leather did you use on this? Regards Phil
  18. Hi Rouven Very smart work and imaginative too.. I shall bear you in mind when it comes to my future pannier fasteners, thankyou.. Those buckles themselves aren't too expensive and only work out to under £11 Sterling each, but the volume required and the shipping costs are what would put it out of my league.. Bruce..your Lowy site is one heck of a find.!! Loads of fasteners to drool over there..I'll book mark it for future reference, if only for ideas of what's out there.. nice one.. Take it easy guys.. Regards Phil
  19. Hi Benlily.. I'm real sorry..I've only just seen your comment on my page..lol

Thankyou for the compliment on my bike and I've just been and looked at the link to your websites.. Does your hubby make the seat bases for you too? Loving the work, btw.. ;)

As I'm sure you'll have read on my profile..my bike seat is what brought me to the LW site.. One day I'll get ...

Hey Horrrk, just realized you responded. Sorry I didn't get your message sooner.I think with the site being changed I didn't get a notification.

No, my husband doesn't make the seat pans. I get them from www.accufast2d.net Good luck on making your seat!

  20. Hi Admiral..the bags on that link..are they your work? If they are, you already use quite an extensive collection of differing buckles, quick release snap hooks and swivel links already.!! lol I like the way they've been used and also the thought that's obviously gone into the differing designs. The steel corner trims..are they plain steel so they'll rust, or stainless? As far as the quick release buckles you originally posted about go, I've looked online for a supplier here in the UK and have come up empty handed too.. Maybe something will come to mind one day, cos there's sure to be a supplier somewhere this side of the pond.. Regards Phil
  21. LOL.. nice one, thanks for that.. I've seen bike seats painted with bright designs and I wondered if it would last..I guess a wallet will be a pretty good test for durability, flexibility etc.. Regards Phil
  22. Grand job there Benlily.. I bet he's thrilled with it.. I have a question..how hard wearing are the colours, compared to leather dyes? Take care.. Phil
  23. Hi Kevin.. Loving the bag.. It's very rugged looking indeed. A proper bloke carry bag.. The sort of thing I'd ditch me rucksack for..lol On the construction..did you make the bag inside out and then flip it the right way? Also, are the concertina panel sides, stitched all the way down too? Thanks for sharing Regards Phil
  24. WOW.!! I reckon you need to change your profile from this though.. 'Leatherwork Specialty:Newbie - just learning' lol I know it's not in critique, but the lack of oak leaves is distracting..haha! But seriously, that's got to have taken some patience and a steady hand.. Fantastic job Crystal.. Regards Phil
  25. Overall..a nice looking seat there, Josiah Lacing is on my list of things to start learning.. Regards Phil
