  1. I use a 550 watt family sew- pro on my Randall. I can sew 1 stitch at a time or I can sew continuous as slow as 1 stitch every 4 seconds. I am using a speed reducer The smallest and the center pulleys. plenty of punching power for 3/4 inch of harness leather.
  2. Saw one bring $1200 at an auctions last fall. It sewed but I would not call real good. I have a very good one but I am not about to sell it.
  3. Put that walking foot adjustment in the center of the slot and leave it alone for now. Tighten your tensions back to where they were . The presser foot pressure is adjusted on the very top of the machine. It is the black knurled nut that is around the shaft sticking up on the top left hand end, counter clockwise will lower the pressure.
  4. Your thread path and foot lifter chain are correct. FYI to whom it may concern the 3200 Cowboy is a little different than the 3500 & 4500 Cowboy, cobra 4 ETC. Did the heat shrink tubing fix your problem?
  5. yes . it has to have slack to let the thread go around the bobbin.
  6. As far as the center foot height if you are talking about the slot on the back it is in the center of the slot. The pictures show the knot much worse than looking at them for real. I just put the black in to see the white better no white on top but 2 or3 black dots on the single thickness back
  7. After reading your post I went to my 3200. 5 oz. natural strap, #23 needle, 207 bonded nylon thread top and bottom. Bobbin tension screw all the way tight, now here is what made it work, top thread thru only 1 hole on spool pin, top tension spring taken off a domestic sewing machine 6 coils of .040 wire, top nut 1/2 way on, bottom tension flush with stud.
  8. I have had that problem with some kinky thread. I fixed it by extending the length of the pin with piece of heat shrink tubing about an inch long.
  9. Don't use mine for anything over 10 oz. not a holster machine for sure. I patch shoes and boots some times leather welding gloves repair coat zippers and pockets and shoulder seams on winter coats and coverall. put patches on letter jackets etc. 69 thread mostly
  10. Can't see much from these pic. but if you put the plastic washer then the spring washer next to the bolt head you can swing away without losing the adjustment.
  11. Chief did you get yours from Toledo? Bobby must have done the file work for you that is who told me how to do it
  12. I just filed the flats on the bolt almost full depth of the shoulder and turned it over . Does the same thing and no parts to buy.
  13. A new shuttle is $300+. Where are the ends of the thread when it breaks? In the shuttle area or up high in or above the thread tube? What thread and wax are you using. I now use nylon thread but when I first got it I was trying to use linen dry and it would break every time, then I got the wax pot working with liquid waxand the thread stopped breaking. the thread breaks/ocks need to be set for the type of thread you are using.
  14. cycle the machine thru till the needle has pulled the thru down thru the needle just a little. Now remove the front shuttle race cover. As you turn the hand wheel slowly watch to see if the point of the shuttle goes between the two threads or if it catches/or splits one side or the other. If it hits one side you will need to center the shuttle. If it goes between the threads ok watch as the shuttle comes forward and see where it is breaking the thread.
  15. Not a good choice. I don't think they have a bottom feed dog.
  16. I think I see a pin going thru that hub and shaft that will not let it be changed even if you loosen the screw. Better look somewhere else.
  17. It will sew leather, but how tick do you want to sew !/4 inch or less. 92 thread is tops smaller is better.
  18. Do not thread the needle , raise the presser foot & wind the bobbin with no thread in the needle it will not hurt anything. After you have a full bobbin wind a bobbin as you sew
  19. I think the needle bar is OK. but the machine is out of time. Call your dealer and maybe he can walk you thru setting the hook timing. It is not that hard to do but it is a new machine isn't it?
  20. tip the machine back look underneath on the left hand side. There may be a knob, try turning it and push in or pull out to shift gears that will change the stitch length. That is the way my singer works
  21. if it is a copy of the Singer post bed 12 per inch is the longest stitch it will make. some were set up for 19 to the inch. They had a gear box with 3 sets of gears. Mine does 1 3, 15, 17
  22. The gospel according to Eric. Thanks Eric, Been missing your post.
  23. If you don't have the button look in the window in the back of the arm at the cam. It has 3 sections the one closest to the hand wheel will have a notch in the outer rim stick the end of a screwdriver in that slot and use the top of the window for leverage to hold the cam while you turn the top of hand wheel toward the front of the machine. as far as you can turn it will give max lift of the center foot. the outer foot lift is automatic working off the thickness of the material the inner foot has under it.
