Joe, this one is so much better! In fact, I really don't see anything wrong with it. Awesome! I'll be interested to see your new design you talked about. I think machine sewing is perfectly legitimate. In fact, as far as I can tell, it's harder than hand sewing. Faster, maybe, but finicky. My husband uses a CNC machine to automatize parts of his instrument building, and there are some people who think it's cheating, but machines cause as many problems as they solve. Or rather, people who sew with machines have to become skilled at it, just as you have to with handsewing. It's not really taking the easy way out.

Thanks, that's actually a good idea. I really had no idea what I had in mind. I haven't even bought the leather, yet. The pattern you posted above would also be cool because they won't readily grow out of it.

So yes, not a criticism, just personal preference. I wish I could say I had used english bridle leather. Hopefully in the next year. LOL, whipstitch, I was sure you were going to tell us your chromexcel was molding or something. I'm glad it's not. Unfortunately, I have never been in the same room with chrome ex, so I have no idea. Hopefully I'll be able to change that soon. I'm getting some horween dublin in a few days, but I dare say its different.

Those straps look great! Where'd you get the leather cord? I love the tote. I'd lean towards english bridle ends for the strap ends, but that's just personal.

Those look great! 9 spi looks really good on that size. I was just looking at Blanchard pricking irons and shuddering at the price. Sometime soon, maybe. Ludlow carries .6mm thread, is that still too big for 9spi, do you think?

David, I think I've only seen one example of something you've made, but that dopp kit looks really cool. I'd like to see more of what you're making. But yes, you need a better camera. Even a phone camera in good lighting would be better than that.
