    Six strands of roo, braided in the middle of the strands and folded to make the loop and tied with a cotton constrictor knot. I now have 12 strands hanging down. I braided 4 strands to make a core and then braided the remaining 8 around the core. cheers caroline

    hey bevo.....this was the first time i have done this braid...i am not sure how it was meant to turn out, i dont mind the way it looks and actually like the textured result as against the smooth look of a normal braid, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!! Ps...some pics of the way it should look would be great...ta

    beautiful work....soooooo well finished....i cant imagine trying to use an awl and then sewing something this thick....love the inlay

    Braiding and knots have always been a challenge for me...so this year i have made a big effort to improve and extend myself. Here is a necklace i made....it is a 8 braid over a core with some knots at the end....the guide i followed said it was a gaucho braid and it had four steps that had to be repeated....so i had to undo it a few times when i lost concentration!!!!

    I have used the art spectum acrylics on my masks...they spray quite well and have a nice pearl white that can be mixed with the other colors, but i have never mixed them with leather dyes. Here is the result i had...the colors were nice, but it certainly wasnt one of my best mask efforts.
