  1. I have thought of adding a slot to slip a pad of paper in and incorporate a pen/pencil holder of some type, if I get real adventurous I may do one with a zipper or at least a snap/strap combo.
  2. Versatility, broadens ones horizons, very nice work.
  3. Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets! Those Damn Yankees.
  4. Thanks for all the nice comments, was mostly lots of rubbing and reapplying and trial and error, more the latter I think.
  5. I took a break from sandals project and did this cover yesterday. I tried to get a sunburst effect but since I haven't found or figured out how to use a airbrush I did it by hand using mahogany antique on the edge and medium brown antique in the center. This one will be going on consignment at a local christian book store along with other stuff I have yet to think up and make. I figure I may be able to get some exposure and business. Tried to upload last night but something was screwy so I am trying again.
  6. Done both ways, but sewed by hand on the mould first one, there just was not enough room to get the foot close enough, saving up for a skinny one though. I like to change things up so it was just another way to enjoy the leather adventure.
  7. After wearing them for awhile I showed them to the owner of the local Tandy shop, He now has them on the showoff wall and said he will be taking them to demo's for the scouts and such. He was impressed, mentioned how they look real professional. I have started on a new pair, and have been photographing the steps and tools I used, I am thinking of maybe putting together some type of small book as I have only seen a ebook offered by tandy that appears to have been done in the late 60's or early 70's. Dunno, maybe there is a market for it, time will tell I guess.
  8. Nay I say! they only have to think they are right. Whatever needs to be done to accomplish that.... well thats up to the artisan. LOL
  9. Very nice stuff, I have read some about the lining in old bottles that have been found, but I would be concerned about coating my insides with wax. How do you seal them and soothe someones anxiety about drinking the sealant along with the liquid?
  10. Cool clean drawing, now howbout some measurements. Also if cad was 3D would that take care of factoring in thickness and the various moulding that would be needed?
  11. I agree that it appears SOP as far as widths, the only way to get an accurate 1" or any other width, is to cut your own, but even the strap cutters are off when you use the markings on them.
  12. I use ubuntu almost exclusively very good all around, only use win to access the photo card slots as drivers are not released by the company for open source that I can find. Also occasionally access my msn email and use media player to transfer stuff to the opal that I have that chokes on linux. Eventually I will delete all the ms junk and go free all the way again.
  13. Finally got everything taken care of. Not that I wanted to but I setup a dual boot system so I can use the photo card slots, a lot easier than plugging in and unplugging the camera even if I have to continue to use MS. On the board I found the manage attachments but it will only let me select all to delete. Since my system crashed and I lost most of my recent photos I would like to download all my photos to my hard drive but am not looking forward to doing it one at a time. Any suggestions? Thanks Nevermind I had some time so I downloaded them that I needed. Thanks to this board I didn't lose em permanently.
  14. Billyjoe, I am curious, are you replacing your dies or liquidating your business? I notice you have offered quite a variety of items for sale recently. My business hasn't got the financial means yet.... but a guy can dream'n'drool over tools right.
  15. Very nice work, I was a bit concerned by the title, thought you were not going to make holsters anymore. Would be a shame. LOL
  16. Very interesting tri weave, good job.....just an opinion, I think the area around the trigger is a bit to exposed, but like I said just my opinion/preference, otherwise great looking holsters I can see why your friend is happy with them.
  17. Next project would have to be a great big range bag to lug them all to and from the range, cause you would need to do a lot of R&D. LOL
  18. What an adventure, Could you post some pics of your exploring? I don't get out much and love to see faraway places that aren't as if it's a TV travel show.
  19. You could wear a different one every day! like some ladies and their shoes, I would need custom grips to match my outfits. LOL Do they make levi and T shirt grips?
  20. From what I have and have seen repro pistols are configured stock only, any only for the model rings and others list, if any mods have been made or if they don/t make a specific pistol, you will most likely need the real deal. Hope I got the gist of your inquiry corectumundo.
  21. I know what you mean about trucking, it is a hard life on the road, especially if you have a family, won't go back to it, thats for sure. Good luck in Colorado, it is a beautiful place.
  22. I used craftool #E294 on the inside for the border and to hide some problems on the other piece. No airbrush, I don't have the patience to learn how to use one well enough, I used a damp dense sponge in a swirling motion. Thanks very much for the comments, though I don't think my work comes close to some of you that post on this board.
  23. eco-flow acorn brown and a slightly watered down black hi-lite over the top.
