worked that time, very nice work.
  2. Works and fits well, other than the squeaking of stiff leather.
  3. Coffee makers... we go thru at least 2 machines a year even with regular cleaning they just darn wear out, the liquid gold is hot round here amost 24/7, usually just folgers splenda and milk very rarely splurge on starbucks as I can not justify a 5 buck cup'o'joe most days, so we just make our own. Ahh yes a biscotti adds to the bliss on occassion.
  4. Very nice, is it an interpitation of a Yaqui Slide style? At least thats what I think they are called.
  5. Only use graph paper cause it was free LOL also gives me brain some liner reference cause I get lost real easy.
  6. thanks for the compliments, I do seem to be improving with each one, I look at my 1st and 2nd and am suprised at the change. Kinda in a slump right now, can't get motivated to do anything but wiil post another project when the bug bites.
  7. Some of mine actually make a click or pop when inserting or drawing, it seems to be coming from the area of the ejection port moulding it has become less as it is used. If it was the finish I would think you would see residue or markings on the gun or in the holster.
  8. just a guess but spring steel sandwiched between the leather or maybe aluminum? As a side note I think the rivet is a bit overkill as sewing would seem adequate for the belt stap.
  9. Beautiful work, How did you like the class? a review would be nice to sock away for the next one offered when I have $$$$...Jordan
  10. The clasp looks like a miniuture clevis hook as used in lifting heavy items with machines like a trackhoe.
  11. Post definetly to long, that is the dimple in the center of the rivet in the 1st photo. Lots of vaiables come into play and one will turn out great and the next like crap unless some sort of arbor press is used for consistent position and pressure or alot of practice wackin em with a mallet and setter. I try to limit the use of rivets and snaps because of it.
  12. Thanks for the offer, I already have the stolhman book and was curious as to how much duplication the was in the pattern paks so I don' buy a bunch of duplicates, Money is the problem right now, as in I don't have any to waste.
  13. Thanks, I have checked out a variety of places and eventually will pick up a few pattern paks. Just trying to avoid duplication.
  14. Just a quick question, If I ws to purchase some of the pattern packs that tandy offers are they the same patterns? I want to avoid duplicating if I already got some I don't think I need to buy more of the same...Jordan
  15. Pretty much anyplace that sells Drywall tools should have them
  16. When we moved here to Utah our street was 3 houses long that deadended into a corn field, pheasants were a driving hazard and every town had a sign posted about not shooting within 100 yards of a house, now the signs are gone, we are surrounded by houses, people are the hazard driving and you can't even light off a firecracker on the 4th of july without some yahoo calling the police. All this in 11 years and to boot there is a wally world supercenter a mile from the house.
  17. Yes you're right without horns it wouldn't be as fun. You do great work and the fact you have incorporated other skills like metalwork makes it all the more impressive.
  18. Thrift stores for old belts, cut off and reuse the hardware, there are some nice buckles out there for a dollar or two, a little elbow grease and they look brand new.

can't be sure but it does not look like a natural fiber could be nylon
  20. Very cool. I don't know of any vikings other than the minn. type that would wear it, as watching PBS historians say that helms of that area and times never had horns, but they(historians) are kinda like weathermen, can never be sure what it's like outside unless they actually go out.
  21. Here is the last photo of this one. I didn't have a belt that would work with it so I scrounged a blank I had and broke out the hand crank embosser I bought last year. Made one today, matches pretty close, nothing special no liner or stitching just a down and dirty 25 dollar special.
  22. No real method I just measure in from the edge 1/8" to 1/4" whatever looks good at the time and is close to the stress points like around the belt loops and the pistol pocket edges. A second line at the same measurement inside the first hides alot of faults, guess it draws the eye away from the edge. I have'nt figured out where the line needs to be in relation to the pistol, I just guess at it and so far have been lucky or used a different bluegun that fit. Someone may have a formula but I think most have learned by trial and error.
  23. One thing I notice with water is if the entire piece does not have the same moisture content you will end up with spots.
  24. That one looks super comfortable. Is it rough side out? I like the adjustable clipons and the shape of the back, what type of attachment screwposts are those?
