Ray, I use the chisel on thinner leather, say sewing 2 3oz. pieces together. On thicker leather it makes the holes too big, although I sometimes will use it to lay out my stitch line on the thick stuff. I use the 1/8" chisel.
I did one back then of a Minuteman and the Liberty Bell from a Tandy craft-aid. Certainly not as nice as yours, but you're right about the interest back then.
The Tandy snap/rivet setting tool kit comes with a long narrow anvil that would fit inside that pouch. Use needle-nose pliers to get the post down there, push the cap on it, slide the anvil down there and set it.
There are a lot of people here, myself included, who like to see others work, but don't really feel qualified to critique it. I just looked at your work, and it's not horrible at all.
Doug, I was just in the shop and checked, on all the boxes I've gotten from W&C, the invoice is in a plastic bag glued to the outside of the box. None on yours?
