Absolutley. I painted a picture album baby blue (customer request, not my idea, lol) Finished it with Satin Shene, she says it's still holding up 4 years later.

Go to Michael's, A.C.Moore, any craft store. They have craft acrylic paints in a myriad of colors. You should be able to match the color, or get real close. Dilute it 60/40 water/paint, and you should be good to go.

Wow, I'd hate to see that dog food bill. Nice work!

Chalk it up to an off day, Doug. I usually buy the overstocks, and haven't had a problem.

Maybe you could talk to one of the stamp makers here and have the whole design put on one plate, then use an arbor press.

Looks great, Jay. What did you use for color?

When I use acrylics, it's always hobby paints diluted 60/40. The only ones I've had problems with wearing/fading are the metallics. I even experimented a while ago by painting a square of leather with pink acrylic, Satin-Shene over it, and carried it in my back pocket for 2 weeks straight. It held up well, no real wear at all.

Patience and practice, Ellen. I do a lot of celtic carving, and my lines are never as clean as I would like them to be. A very small stylus point and a very sharp swivel knife help also.

Mystery Braid Belt
Timd replied to kc8290's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Funny, after first reading this thread, I happened to pick up the BSA leatherworking merit badge book, and it says for every 12" of braid, add 1" -
Now that you mention it...... Pretty cool if you ask me. Nice carving, and I like the coloring. Did you airbrush it?
-
I wonder if they do work boots...........

Just roll it in the opposite direction, usually works for me.

Slaughter Free Leather Not Selling As Expected

" I have always believed as a society develops a higher consciousness they seem to develop a lower I.Q. " Very profound, and very true. -
I'm interested in this too. I've been playing around with it, just doesn't look right.

Ordered Mine! I'd be the coolest fool in school, if I went to school!

I have to go with Wickett & Craig too. The overstock sale is the right price, and thier #3 is cleaner than most #1's I've see from other suppliers.

My Wife got me one for Christmas, Greg, and it is SWEET!

Adam, These aren't chrome, but chainmail type, click on the accessories tab: Hawkwolf's I use them, and most of the time people comment on the chain before the wallet..lol

Ray, I think you made the right decision. They showed you how they plan to do business with you, probably laughing about getting the pushover to do a nice, quick job for cheap AGAIN! Yes, we can all use more money, but you nailed it, ethics leads the way.
