ty Timid-A wear leather is put on the blanket so the fenders or stirrup leathers(place where your legs are) doesnt rub an fray the blanket. It helps to protect the pad from being worn. hope that helps.

hi I have a bunch of old tandy patterns for purses. not sure what you are looking for. Ill share but wont part with them lol. Bronc

lot of times i just take the bobbin out take it out of case n put back in n make sure that its threaded right then put it back. also i will check the top thread cause sometimes the machine will loop n catch wrong cause of a burr on the case. but if all else fails i just take out bobbin check n put back n pull top thread out of needle n rethread. also check the threading from spool to needle. sometimes if you dont notice that your thread broke or sprung out of the needle sometimes that will cause a loop up top to fly around n catch the arm or tension knob. n you dont notice right away. sometimes its the simplest things. your bobbin case might not be all the way in where its suppose to be either. all simple things. sometimes ya look n say duh!! lol.

heres a mandella I done a few years back. Its quite large. like 3 ft long top to bottom. one of the few things that stayed around that I made. heres a purse I did a while back to lol. some oldy stuff. hope you like. I dont get to tool to often mostly fixing stuff. Bronc/Bonnie

Is it a straight stitcher? they can be used as a soleing machine. it is good for harness work. I have a straight stitcher champion. and I have a Landis 12. the landis is more popular for shoe repair. a curve needle machine seems to be better for soles. good luck. Bronc/Bonnie

well i brought this up now people want to see. here in this neck of woods we do motorized barstool racing. I sponsored one, one year. n i did the seat cover in blue suede n did grips in black with blue suede flame inlay. ya really cant see them in pics but it was there. I never really took pic of actually seat n grips. but here goes. this is what we do for fun in the winter lol. the first pic is one i did seat cover for.

well go to the fabric store n look in the fabric pattern books. you can take any purse pattern n make it leather. just look in the accessories area in catalog. there is quite a few pattern. I have many ol time pattern for purses to. from tandy years ago. Bronc

this is a good time of year for this for me that is. christmas stuff is done. things are slowing down at least here for me so will be easier to do this time. my show season is done. Ive got time. Ill be catching up on the last one. so got my work cut out. count me in.

Ive been ordering from them for years. if they mess up they fix it. Bill always tells me if theres something I need he will find it for me. Bills been in it for years. never met him but we give each other crap on the phone along with Barry. they all great there. Im closer to the MN stores if i need something quick but I do all my ordering from Elgin. they are a warehouse n one thing that erks me is when I order something from someplace n they dont have it. very very seldom does Elgin not have it. someday when I get out of my shop(If my boss will ever let me) Ill get there in person n give em crap lol. its a good thing leather places are a long ways from me lol its like being in a candy store for me. SALE is my favorite word in a leather store.

Heres a checkbook cover i did for a customer for christmas. they wanted a mule on it so here it is. I dont get to do much tooling so not near as good as some others on here. but they liked it. Bronc/Bonnie

Im going to chime in on behalf of hidemechanic. Im not saying this is not dangerous n it probabley only lastest long enough for the photo but my mare who I had since she was 2 n she died 5 yrs ago at 28. never ever hurt anyone in all the years I owned her. she was a lesson horse n had many many riders n this was not in a ring setting. she gave people who have gotten hurt on other horses there confidence back. she gave 4-h kids life learnins. she babysat the smallest of kids and the most inexperienced. she could go from 50 to 0 n fall asleep when done doing something. she was shown, trail riden, in parades, roped off of, gamed, team penned, jumped, I and many kids showed her english n western, I drove her she did everything asked of her with no quams. if by chance she did get spooked she stop dead in her tracks. kids crawled all over her. anyone could lay underneath her she would never step on you. she would litterally die trying doing anything for me. If the younger horses or others got out shed round them up n be standing with them at the gate to get back in. we had a huge connection. everyone thought we had esp.I could go o n on about my mare. I know this is a very rare horse but can be done with most horses if you spend the hours on them. like hide said there your herd. I have 10 horses n of course none as versitile as her but you can go in the herd of 10 n no one will fight or kick the whole time anyone is around them. they know whos boss. this mare was one in a 1000 but they are out there. If anyone had pics of me doing the crazy things I do on my horses they be making me wear helmets n pads all over my body. but If you have horse savvy and thats something you cant get out of books or videos.theres a lot that think they have savvy. you know your animals. and horse savvy people are rare like the good horses that are out there. Im not accepting this as being safe and as an instructor one of the first things i teach is no horse is 100% safe and to always be alert. and pay attention. but one can get hurt just crossing a street. life is no fun if you dont take a few chances. of course not with kids. Im an adult if i want to be stupid on my horse then I will cause theres stupid people on ATVs snowmobiles, trucks etc... LOL i figure the safety people will start putting airbags on horses pretty soon just because its for safety lol.

Heres a green project i did for a customer. they had one of those thin lambskin or thin leather coats had a few rips in it but to many to patch up so she had this idea for me to make a couple shaving kits or pouch. so here they are, heres a brown n black checkbool cover for a customer. im not a kevin but did a little stitch design on it. customer liked it so guess did ok. merry christmas all

ah yes I was at the S & S 50th in La Crosse Wi. I was set up there anyways there was a Sucker Punch Sally Dealer there. They thought I was nuts to admiring the hand tooled seats on the bikes. Im in the boonies n the wrong part of the country. To see handy work of other craftsman Is like seeing a rock star up close lol. I was asked to do a seat but declined till I can get a seat to practice on. keep up the great works and whos ever work I saw It was beautiful.

Ive seen some use the square concho adapter that tandy has. Ive seen them put a concho on it then solder it together. Bronc
