  1. Stunning...I love you eye for details
  2. Thank you all for you nice comments, I can see that I have missed a few...Not on purpouse. Tinneal: I don't know if you mean the tooling pattern (which is an authentic map from around 1630) or the tube? Well the tube is just made as I go along and if I have to make another one I have to start from scratch again :-)
  3. That means it might be some hope for the rest of us here in Sverige :-) Good find and Good Luck to you
  4. I do it too, using Angelus spirit dye...and of course I use neatfoot oil after :-)
  5. I have been living at both continents and there is not much mystery behind the lack of knollage at all...In the US (I don't know about Canada) they learn inches and such in math class...In the bigger part of Europe we learn the metric system, simple. The only reason you try to learn "the other system" is IF you have use for it, why bother otherwice?
  6. Good Morning Lutz. You are right that it is the diameter of the barrel (round block as you called it)... To make the conversion easier for you http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm You can actually put down 5/8 in the inch section and have it correctly converted in to cm/mm whatever you like. Good Luck :-)
  7. You have to try http://www.leatherwranglers.com/ I don't know anyone not being happy with Paul's knifes...Paul is a member here on LW :-)
  8. Me too have a couple of them :-) I only strop them on leather, thats enough to get them sharp again.
  9. Thank you loads and sooo nice you like it:-) It was a lot of work but fun at the same time.
  10. Hej Eas, och Välkommen till det trevligaste placet på Internet:-) Trevligt att regionen Skåne blir mer representerat, själv bor jag utanför Tollarp.
  11. Beautiful work Roo:-) I can't wait to see this one colored (if that's the case)
  12. Thanks a Load for your very nice comment about my work:-) With practice and determination, most things in life is possible
  13. Thanks a Million :-) If only it would not stink so much so I could do the horn carving indoors without gaging...I have a number of empthy horns that is craving some designs, I think I seriosly need to contemplate using a cloth pin on my nose *LOL*
  14. This is where I get it from, the best price and quick shipping: http://turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/dye.html
  15. I have used "white aniquing" on black with excellent results. I use FolkArt's white acryllic paint (ex: from Joann's) and FolkArt has a medium to mix with the paint called Floating Medium. This medium allowes the paint to stay "open" (not drying) loonger. You just paint it on and then wipe of the excess paint with a damp paper towel or similar. Of course I have 2 layers of resists on the leather before the antiquing, just as usuall :-)
  16. I second Whinewine's comment Can you explain the process of "rullad kant"? It looks darn good :-)
  17. Thank you Tommy, the figures was great fun to make too :-) next time I'm going to try making some in real bone, I hope I come up with a design with not to manny of them *LOL*
  18. Thank you Odin, for nice comment and the tips about the horns :-) No wet forming on the helmet, it worked anyway, I guess due to all pieces they formed by themselfs when braided together(?)
  19. Thanks a Million Tom, coming from the Master of helmet making and my source for inspiration...I feel humbled :-)
  20. Hi Knut, I talked to some reanacment people at a viking/medieval fair and you have to seal them if you don't like the "cow flawor" to your drink :-)
  21. I plan to seal them...I'm looking high and low for a good material to use that I can find here in Sweden. I would love to find a foodsafe resin-type of sorts so that hot liquid can be used in them.
