  4. Hi Ray, this might sound a bit too easy but...I have in my view the best sharpener for sissors money can buy, from Fiskars. When sewing I need the sharpest sissor to cut my fabrics and ever since I bought my sharpener over 10+years ago I have yet to buy a new pair of sissors...Well spent money and it goes to all my sissors at home :-) http://www.powertoolsdirect.com/fiskars-scissor-sharpener-30537
  5. Manny Millions of Thanks for your very kind words about my work John :-) Maybe I should try to make a thing or two from the book and hopefully make Jehan's designs justice...
  6. I have been asked that question before and I have yet to decide what to do so, for the moment I'll let it be.
  7. Hi Rob, I have yet to make anything using the patterns from the book, most of my stuff is my own patterns that I draw...Just wish the days had more hours :-) If/when I make anything from the book I will for sure post it here on LW//Tina

    White Cowhide?

Hi When I lived in the US I bought white cowhides aka "Chap Leather" around 3-31/2 oz, very nice quallity from Hide House :-) http://hidehouse.com/
  16. I use Angelus Matte finish when I don't need no shine. I apply it with an airgun and it comes out great. The most inexspensive place I have found it in is: http://turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/miscellaneous-products.html (scroll down a wee bit more than half the page to..."Acryllich Finishers"
  17. I have the 1/4" (never tried any other size) from Paul's SK-3 (LeatherWrangler) and it is almost the only one I use, so primary it is :-). I love the little blade which makes me able to do pretty much anything I like.
  18. I use Fiebings Hi-Liter. It is a less "thick" than the antiqueing from Tandy. It is a wee bi more tricky to work with, a very "light hand" when whiping of excess (or it dryes in patches...This is the best way I can explain it) and an airgun for the sealer is the best way to go. Even if it is tricky I use it a lot and would be lost without it :-)
  19. I use (among others) Angelus acryllic paints. They seams to hold up good and I have not found any cracks up to date and I have been using them for + 3 years. My latest test will be this browband I made for my grand daughters horse last night...Angelus dye and paints. Lets see how good it will hold up this time :-)
  20. With the SK-3 you have a 2 different yokes to take your pick from.
  21. My best tip is to use a Desktop Puplishing Program (DTP). I have used Serif's Page Plus for more than 10 years now, very affordable if you buy a newer version or even more affordable to just uppgrade. This program lets you play around as if you had an ordinary desktop with loose pictures (text) or what ever and you can lay them around anywhere/anyhow you like...Resize, rotate and more. If you learn this program you have an excellent tool in your quest of making your own patterns if hand drawing is not your prefference. The "not ancient" versions even let you make PDF's and Web designs. Another tip about this program in specific is that there is free, older versions out there readdy to be used, just make a search for them, a good start :-)

    Pink Dye

This topic has been up before...Try this link out :-) http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=29800&st=0&p=186640&hl=+pink%20+dye&fromsearch=1entry186640
  23. Hi Ben :-) I did not cut back any fur on either one of the quivers. The Hair-on-cow was the easy one, the fur is "stiff" and it was just so sew right on to the tooled pieces. The rabbit, a wee bit more tricky...The fur finds it self in to every little stich and hole. I taped back the fur as hard as possible with some of that blue masking tape, (but I'm sure any masking tape will do) then it was "just" to sew the fur onto the tooled pieces. I remeber I did glue the delicate rabbit fur onto some piece of leather (just laying around) with more substance to it. I hope this will help you or that other might jump in here and give some tips on the topic. Wishing you Good Luck//Tina
  24. Thanks a Load "whinewine" & "Reaper", it warms my heart :-) "Knothead" If you have had your pictures kidnapped to other for you unknown places, your name taken out of those pictures by photo edditing you migh also have Big watermarks on your stuff in the future...I would even make them Bigger and All over if I could get away with it ;-)
