  1. Yup...It works for me and no cracking. If I have understod your writing....Do you paint the back side (flesh side) or do I miss something? In that case I have never used it. I use spirit dye then I oil the whole surface with neatfoot oil (not the compound) and wait for at least 24 hours, I then use the sealer and it works out just fine.
  2. Sorry for the late delay in responding to this...We have had the worst and windiest storm in years and of course the power went out...For 23 hours *Grrr* nuff said! I'm happy you all like them, I made them for this years fair, lets see how well they will do:-) David...I will try to remember to take some photos the next time I make a cover. I did post up som templates last year in the pattern section.
  3. Just coming back after 23 hours of powerbrake *grrr* I really don't like these winter storm.

We went 10 days without power last January. You realy learn to appreciate it when it works! Glad yours is back on.

  4. Thanks a Million guy's and gal's :-) ClayB...I had to invent something, the LARP (reenactment) people don't like to see modern rivets or buckles. When not in the US anymore there is a limitation of what I can get my hands on in an easy way and without paying loads of tax/custom/shipping fees *grrrr*.
  5. Thank you both...I really hope someone wants to (dare to) use them *S*
  6. The quiver with the sea dragon (and swirls) I also used hair-on-cow on. This is also my first prodejt where I used my new air brush, I love it . Some colors is Angelus spirit dyes, others is acryllic paint. I also used Fiebings Hi-Liter. There is some metal details here like D-rings and two bucles. All hand sewn. The Wild boar quiver has some soft rabbit fur. Here is all colors Angelus spirit dyes except small details in white & black (eyes only) and some air brushed on, ontop is the old Tandy middle brown antique. This quiver is made totally without any metal parts but the straps is still adjustable. All hand sewn.

    Red Hair On Hide

If you don't mind buying from Europe...I found this one on Tradera (Swedish Ebay owned) this week: http://www.tradera.com/Akta-koskinns-matta-i-jatte-fint-skick-UNIK--auktion_1615_126947832
  8. Yes, sequring the back will change the outcome. I mostly use 6-7oz (as in the picture).
  9. Thanks a Million :-) I'm quite happy with the details too, the pattern came out much better than I had ever hoped for.
  10. I use the mulefoot tools: U-851, U-853, & U-855 or U-858, U-859 or U-710 whatever you prefer. They can also be used for dragon and snake scales:-) I attache a picture where I have used the mulefoot for the fish scales:
  11. I thought I might jump in here :-) I have made a few moons along the way, with trees and more. In general, the more sizes of bevelers you have the better of you'll be (the small and pointed ones is also very usfull) I enclose a collage of pictures so you can see how it can work, some made with smooth bevelers and others with checkerd bevelers. The most usefull tool in making these look good is a couple of modeling tools.
  12. I second Ken, very nice work on those sandals
  13. I second Mike here I use my Bearman mauls every day and it is a joy using them, Ed!
  14. Hi, you need to start with number 1, in book 2 & 3 they only make references to see in book1 and so on. It is not freestanding books in the true sense.

    Smaller Tools?

I've been sanding down more than one of my stamping tools, as you say it is needed when doing small stuff. I did buy duplicates to modify (and even some of the older tools too), it worked like a charm:-)
  16. Now the first post makes a whole lot more sense and I love your story So lets say...There is no right or wrong (products) just the way someone loves to work/use cetains things more than others and what makes them happy, we all got to start somewhere Wish you a wonderful weekend//Tina
  17. I can not help but feeling a wee bit offended by this...As a member I tressure the opportunity to discuss anything and vent the difference between product A verus B, to like or dislike. Personally I don't feel I am i a need of Mr Teacher telling me I can not "shun" a product X if I don't like it . I have tried and tested Eco flow, and I would not touch it with a plyer in the future, and it is my prerogative to think and say so, we might have different oppinions in the forum about the product in question but that's a good thing. Only my 2 cents//Tina
  18. I like the carved letters, much more personal. I use any font I like for the moment and then jazz-it-up with swirls and scrolls or something:-)
  19. Merhaba Eylem and most Welcome to this friendly place on the net. I will try the translater on your other forum but I do enjoy the pictures. I have been to Turkey a few times and always had a super nice time, friendly people, warm weather and delicious food :-)

  21. This one gave me one of those "Aha" moments. Millions of thanks I will for sure use your tip in my future braiding adventures.
  22. Now, I don't have the Osborne punches but, I use a 4 lb maul to wack on my bigger oblong punches, it only takes a few wacks to get it done.
  23. 24. Hej Skald.
