  1. You're more than Welcome and I wish you good luck with the "new" material :-)
  2. I use Angelus brand instead of Tandys, comes in 4 different shines, Matte, Satin, Gloss & High Gloss. Scroll half way down the link page and You'll find them :-) http://turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/miscellaneous-products.html
  3. I think I know what you're after...Keen Edge Beveler (with the reservation for spelling here *S*) Comes in size 2, 3 & 4, I did found them here: http://www.sbearstradingpost.com/leather_tools.html
  4. What I do is streching the glad wrap around tightly and I use tape on the back...Then turning it right and tape the printed pattern onto that. It works out really good for me and I don't have to try to find "the right stuff" way up here in the north:-)
  5. Yes you can use white paper too...Just put a layer of Glad Wrap in between and use tape to keep them inline:-)
  6. You absolutly need to talk to ClayB ger on LW, he makes the best furlike carvings ever :-)
  7. I usually have a good BS detector...Now that said, the only thing I can detect is kindness in the letter from Bob. I hope this helps:-)
  8. Here's what I use....Scroll down around 60% of the page and you'll find Angelus Reducer Solvent: http://turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/miscellaneous-products.html Others here on LW have said that dentures alcohol will work too.

  11. http://www.phillipsengraving.com/Leather_Stamps.html Easy to deal with and very helpful...I'm more than happy with mine:-)
  12. As usual, an outstanding set of mauls...I'm a number one fan (and a very proud owner of a BearMan set)
  13. That leather can also be found in Sweden, This is from one of the supplier I'm using over here: http://www.slojddetaljer.se/deptlist.aspx?deptid=136&showAll=true The leather halfway tanned is called " Rårand/Norskt Valkläder" Now, there's another type here just called "Råläder/Lappläder" (Raw leather/lapp leather)and the usage according to the text might be just what you're looking for Ray: Råläder är ett helt ogarvat skinn. Det är utmärkt om man vill ha hårda fodral eller knivslidor. Skinnet blötlägges före bearbetning och återfår sin hårdhet när det torkat. Tjocklek 1,7-2 mm Translation: "Raw leather is totally untanned, it is perfect for that hard sheet/scabbard. The leather is put in water before being used/worked at and will recover the stiffness when dry. thickness 1.7-2mm." I hope this will give you some ideas :-)
  14. Beautiful work:-) I hope this leads to more work for you, let's spread the "leatherbug" :-)
  15. If you're worried about the lifespan, why not get a metal stamp? I got mine from this place under $40: http://www.phillipsengraving.com/Leather_Stamps.html
  16. Off course you can use it...I did "mock up" your background a wee bit in my cropping so you might have to change that back.
  17. Or, if you want to play with the theme a bit, ad a "bear mark" :-)
  18. Hi Ed...Just me that can not help but putting the logos in my photo program and I did some chopping and cropping:-) This is to give you an idea of other ways to make it with whatever font you like and still make it look clean:
  19. Towards the bottom of this link: http://www.artsupply.com/createx/airbrush2oz.htm you will find iridecent colors, I hope the'll do :-)
  20. Are you sure they're attached right/hard enough (or the right size)? I use Jiffy rivets (Belgium) and if I attache two pieces I can hang in them without them braking on me. I use a rivet press and it works beautifully:-)
  21. Love it...Thanks Ray for putting a smile on my face this morning:-)

    Makers Mark - Metal

I bought my metal stamp from this place for $35: http://www.phillipsengraving.com/Leather_Stamps.html I'm more than happy with the imprint, price, service and turnaround time...I can not however say anything how long it will last, mine is just a few months old:-)
  23. I have bought some Japan tools from ST leather to a very good price (+10 stamps for $3.39 each if I remember correctly, as of September-09) What I also like is that they have all these special stamps (celtic, and newer geometric, chainlinks etc) all sold one by one...Waaaaay better priced than other (no names) big suppliers:-) http://stleather.com/2008-P25.html http://stleather.com/2008-P24.html
  24. There's several discussions about maker stamps here on LW...I paste in two of the links to them that I found quickly:-) http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=23420&st=0&p=149541&fromsearch=1entry149541 http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=22646&st=0&p=145425&fromsearch=1entry145425
