This is the natural roses I've tried to create. My inspiration for it came from the pictures that "Bobocat" posted here a few weeks ago of his work, I just had to try to make something like that :-)

Cowboy Couture Holster
Tina replied to MattW's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Absolutly beautiful, very nice set. I love the carving, very nice and clean...Did you do the stiching by hand? -
You know, I have almost come to the conclusion that it is not really that messy, just my room is waaaaaay to small Tom, No, I have it just for my Jiffy rivets. I set all eyeletts by hand. This is the European style press and I only find tool for it it Europe/Sweden. I do have a brand new American press to from "Heritage" but I have not used it yet and not sure if I'm keeping it or not?

Fab Clay. The colors and the whole thing looks real:-)

OK, I confess, I'm a "messer" too :-) But somehow I always know what I have stuff, even if it's on the floor (?)

I have bought from them twice recently and I'm really happy. I just called them up, got loads of help over the phone so I got the right product and my order was shipped the next day. Some carving tools is unfortunatly discontinued :-(

Fantastic Tom, I love the design, the expression of the face is superb and as said here before, it almost looks like 2 pieces of leather. Impressed

Hi, You are using some things I dont but in general... 1. When I use dye (spirit) I wait until it's dry, 2-4 hours just to be sure before aplying neatfoot oil. 2. I wait 24 hours before putting on a sealer. 3. I wait another 12-24 hours before aplying antiqing (then around 10 minutes to "clean off" the antiqing to where I want it to be. 4. I will wait until the next day befor aplying a sealer ontop of this. It is a slow process but I would like to think less "booboos" show up:-)

Thanks Wolfie and Roo I had a nice birthday, just missing my kids on such a day...Hopefully going to Sweden for X-mas:-)

These are gorgeous:-) I like the suttle paint/dye on the roses, makes it very delicate.
-
Holy cow...I have a fan club??? *blushing and bowing*:-) Thanks Wolvie, as usual I'm just hoping to do "the same but different" if that makes sence:-) Thank you bobocat for your kind words. I hope that I can make things as beautiful as yours in time:-)

Personally, The world would be a rather boring place without facial hairy men:-)

Make it in to something usable, it's Gorgeous:-) (If you like tips, I have some) I really like the way you did the shading on the oak leaves, it came out great. I don't know if it is the picture or the dyes but on the photo/scan they look more opac than transparen. Is this just the photo or is it the Eco Flow dyes? We need more posting from you Clay:-)
