    A little sneakpeek....

Darryl, What??? It is skin (cow skin, right?) Art, I hope it is going to turn out OK, the finishing touches is the hard ones in my eyes to make great. Tom, So, another "Night Owl" :-) I wish sometimes I had someone finishing of the tidius braiding. To me it steels from creative time yet, very necessary to get those finishes that makes the whole thing come together. But, I don't mind the whiskey
  4. So, I got this leather splitter, Osborne #84 design. Now I need someone to make a tutorial on how to use it I know what it does just dont know how. I have never seen it in use before (or close up for that matter) and even if it is only a few moving parts I want to be sure I do the plit the right way:-) Gretful for any input here//Tina

Thank You both, I will post up pictures as soon as they are finished:-)
  8. Holy Cow...Thanks all people:-) You all make me laugh out so loud my hubby wonder "what going on" The booboo (roses) I did pick a piece of the leather that was very poorly and when I carved the outer border line it split open. It really don't show in the picture. I discovered it totally when I laced the edges. Well, I finished it up and at least it's good for taking photos:-) I'm going to make a few more eventually in other styles, this was fun:-) TwinOaks...I'm happy to have hubby around to explain SASS, now I know where to go:-) For now I'm just building up a portfolio. ClayB...I saw on the first one that it was really empthy at the back and "what to do?) Well a braid is always decorative, fast and easy to do. I'm experimenting with the signature, I saw someone here signing with finesse and "Ahh, that could work" sort of:-) It'll take many more tryouts before this one is where I want it to be. Tom...This is the very sloooow Mexican basket weave braid (I've heard other names too) If you go into the braiding section I know there's a link to some tutorials there. It is actually very simple, just takes loads of lacing and time. Darryl and Freak...You both crack up a huge smile here, great Thanks for that:-) Usually I save all booboo's, They will remind you of What NOT to do ever again. You should see my painting booboo pile, very useful.

    A little sneakpeek....

I have not really posted any photos for a while, I'm simply doing more than a couple of projects at the same time and therefor it will be some time in between them. This is a little peek of what is to be done within the next few weeks...I hope:-)
  10. Well, this is my first and second holsters. I have no idea how functional these holsters are, I made them from a old Stohlman template I had. I did draw the carving patterns and I'm pretty happy with the carvings and coloring. The rose holster unfortuatly have some errors in the leather and will stay in the "boo-boo" pile.
  11. Or...Or maybe he's going to work for Avodart, they claim they can help with the shrinking problem Would love to be a fly on Peters wall

  19. Sorry for the late reply, missed it;-( I have tried the alcohol as reducer but I'm not happy with it. Turtlefeathers have a "reducer" ment for thinning the dye out and it is great, I couldt do without it:-)
  20. That is sooooo awesome Roo I guess he's the lucky guy in school and everyone thinks he's got the coolest mom:-)
  21. Thank you Greg for sharing your knollage, otherwise it would be lodgical to think they have the same angle on the blade and so on. I'll keep track of the ones "on sale" :-)
  22. Great Thanks for your input:-) I have the space to mount a big one (8") and I want something to last me a lifetime and is easy/easier to use. Eventually I would like to learn how to make saddles and I might need a bigger one for that (?) As long as some dollars is going into a tool like this the difference in money vercas size is of a smaller importance. The sun is shining on Michigan today and it's beautiful, whishing this for everyone:-)
