  1. Great ide Johanna...And I see some tri-weave stamps to die for on those samples *sigh* Who makes them, never seen them before?
  2. Myriam I first used spirit dye on the whole piece. Then making a little "sparkle" with well diluted silver leather paint ontop of the girlies dresses, "rainbows, stars and moon. Thats it:-) David I use to have his 4 season posters in my teen room in the seventies, flashbacks:-) ClayB ...And ontop of it, a whole bunch of super nice people in the craft, what a bonus:-) JustWakinUp, Froghunter, Spider Great Thanks guys, I'll try to keep it up:-)
  3. Really, really like your designs with a mix of traditional and new, great Beeza. Also think your carving/tooling is excellent:-)
  4. On bigger areas I use the sponge brushes (spirit dyes) and it workes great, to smaller the wool daubers.
  5. You're ALL so very sweet:-) I have one more coming in the next week...Then I think it's time to start out a few more project again. I simply just love making things this way, I'm so happy I found this craft:-)
  6. Anne I absolutly take this a a compliment, to be able to inspire others feels great:-) Super thanks Tazz, as usual your very kind:-) Happy you like'm Braider. I like to try out new color schemes, this one was made to even fit a pair of jeans:-)
  7. Your work is fantastic, a true artisan. Love the clors and all the details.
  8. Great Thanks for posting this belt Marlon, It is fantastic. I keep on being Peters big fan:-)
  9. I did show the carved and tooled piece earlier in the "Critique my Work!" forum but here's the finished purse. It's lined with black plonge leather and I also made a "flap/lid" (?) for it so one might pit it up-side-down and only loose a few nickles:-)
  10. So, I've made the inside and promised to put up a photo of how I made the construction. I'm not happy with the lining but, It'll have to do cuz I'm tired of it right now.
  11. Works extremly good with the whole bike:-)
  12. I think I might have worked up my nerve to show up and talked husband into it :-)
  13. Great tutorial Myriam, Thanks a million:-)
  14. Hi LadyJ, Well You have to get Johannas user up somewhere, click on the right on her user, select "send message" , or you can go directly to my webpage www.absolutekinky.com all things is up there:-) I can use either paint or dyes. On the collars I use dye as much as possible (durablility) and then paint ment for letaher (Agelius) so they can be bent left right and centre without peeling. These patterns can of course be made on anything, I just thought they looked cool on the collars and sometime paddles. Have a great day//Tina
  15. Thanks Linda, very sweet of you:-) Happy you like it Spider *S* I found that buying "hair on cow" for small pieces on ebay got my inspiration going + I did not know how to wetform the sides (yet) so...I just used the hairy cow...Anything goes:-)
  16. Great Frog. I love how the gator came out, as KK says, at first glance it looks like inlays, very cool:-)
  17. Now we're talking:-) The start is great Ken and it looks really clean in all the small details and such...Keep it up and keep posting:-) ps. Love the way you made the design on the tree, coming from the outside area into the main design part
  18. Your seats is alway so clean and nice, I love them. Tell ya what, If I ever get a bike again I'll get one from you:-) Have a small question about your work...The 2 seats at the end, how do you get the coloring at the edges(black) to blend in so nicely with the rest?
  19. Tina

    baby food jars

Good tip, and also used spice glass jars (for mixed dyes and such)
  20. Really Happy for you Tazz, that's a very nice story to tell your grandkids one day, "There is nice people out there" :-)
  21. Great Thanks Pauly, I also hope it will last for a looooong time:-) Not just hard Tammy, down right scary if you ask me, and Super thanks you for your nice comments:-)
  22. Myriam, You're so right, I was going for that lovely weathered look. It's very appealing to me. Collection item huh? Well, up close it has some flaws, not huge but it isn't perfect:-) kagekeeper...Your making me explode *LOL* Great Thank you. sodapop, I did try to make it gender neutral due to a camera case can be used by both. I'm very new to this too and had no idea it was in me *S* Patience and more patience, some stuburness mixed with a "I can" mantra will go a long way:-) Hedge, I would like to think so too:-) I just love leather in general but I never thought I would be able to make things like bags/purses or what ever i can come up with. The technique of carving and tooling leather has endless potential and only ones imagination can put up boundaries.
  23. Very nice Butch:-) A small tip for you. This piece will not have any wear and tear on it, how about using leather paint instead of dye to the background? I do that a lot on easy wear stuff and it comes out great and much much easier to control...Just my 2 cents:-)
