  1. Welcome to the Forum, Lee! You're gonna love it here!
  2. Dang, Josh! Well done! The only thing I'd recommend is what one of the other posters mentioned--covering the trigger guard. Those Glocks have a great reputation for going boom when they're supposed to--they just don't always know when they're supposed to.
  3. That looks good, Randy! I'd expect you'll be getting some calls for those!
  4. K-Man put me on to your guitar build link in your signature line. I'm still beyond amazed.
  5. My Toro 4000 did the same a few weeks ago--just sped up outta nowhere. I don't know what the problem was, but I turned it off and flipped the red toggle switch on the motor to "L." Then, I turned it back on and it was fine. I don't know if that's the correct procedure to fix it, so please take my advice with a grain of salt. I didn't call Artisan because it fixed itself, but I'm guessing (stress the word "guessing") that there's some kind of reset that happens. (I was in the same boat--it was on a weekend, so there was no one to call.) My advice would be to call Artisan, but I thought I'd also pass along my experience.
  6. My comment wasn't intended to offend, though in hindsight maybe I should have expanded upon it. The Elmer's Glue deal is just something I've never encountered at the professional level. I wouldn't use it, and wouldn't endorse it. I couldn't tell if that paragraph was directed at me, or if you were addressing Jeff. I was particularly intrigued by your statement, "...I recall very clearly from 24 years in law enforcement that pimps (and rookie cops) carried fancy, engraved, and plated guns..." I'd like to add to your collection of "pimps (and rookie cops)" in reference to fancy, engraved and plated guns, I know a guy that has some thirty years of law enforcement experience that carried a Colt Commander every day--complete with custom engraved silver and gold grips. He carried in a full-floral carved holster on a full-floral carved gun belt. He worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Texas Ranger. I wouldn't call him a pimp, nor would he be considered a rookie.
  7. I'd like to see that. Have you got any pictures?
  8. Here's a little preview if you'd like a look: Cobra Machines from Leather Machines Company
  9. I agree, even though I'm nowhere near Hidepounder's league! Rawhide peels and flakes like a sun-roasted tourist. Plus, if you have a ricochet (which I've been known to) the rawhide will bite a chunk out of your index finger knuckle. It's rough once it starts to wear and flake.
  10. Welcome to the Forum! This is a heck of a nice bunch--I learn something every time I come in and hang around.
  11. I don't have a dog in this fight/hippo in this race, whatever. But, I bought my Artisan Toro 4000P from Steve three or four years ago. Since then, when I thought "Artisan," I thought "Steve." In other words, the two were synonymous. I've never regretted the purchase, and anytime I came up with an asinine question to ask, it was Steve who I called for the answer. I won't badmouth Artisan, but I will continue to refer folks to Steve. Irregardless of who he represents, the value is in the man, not just the product, or who's nameplate's riveted to it. Not only has he helped me out when needed, he's taken extremely good care of every referral I sent. And there have been several. There will be many more. Integrity's always meant something, but it's so damn uncommon nowadays that when you find it, it glows like neon in Vegas. Steve's good people. He shoots straight, won't jerk your chain, and he'll be there when, and if, you have a problem. That's good enough for me.
  12. It might be one extreme to the other, but it's either classic country, or classic rock. And, I turn the telephone ringer off.
  13. Denise, It's 54F here right now. Supposed to hit 80F this afternoon. We've had some temps in the teens recently, which is tough on us in this part of the country. A lot of our Spring Break folks found it colder here a week or so back than the places in Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc., that they came down from. They're splattered all over the beach this week, though. And, "splattered" can be taken literally!
  14. With you on that 100%. The ones that impress me the most right now are the ones with sense enough to shut the hell up.
  15. Five or six is fine. If I were hand-stitching, I'd go with six.
  16. Thanks, Johanna. When K-Man jumped in and clarified what this was about it set off alarms.
