  1. I've dyed everything brown for so long I'd forgotten there were other colors. So I decided to try out the airbrush on a stencil and see what happened. I sprayed it first then carved it. Tom
  2. Heres a shot of it with the keepers on it. Boy do I need a better camera. I guess when you buy a $100. camera thats all you get. Well actually it was $98. Tom
  3. I think it's beautiful. I can only hope to do work that nice. Great idea using the belt pattern for the spine. Tom
  4. I still need to put the keepers on yet but here it is. Had the left over belt blank that I'd cut a peice off of for some reson or in the past so i thought I'd play with it. I really monkeyed up the studs. I used a 1/8" lacing chisel to make the slits for the spots and I dont think there were two the same. There must be a better way to make the slits for the spots. Tom

She sounds like my kind of Lady. I wonder if shes married? I have to read the instructions about 10 times before I get it. Tom
  6. Sorry about the pics. Made this last night for a lady at Food Lion. The billets are held in place with the concho's. There are extra holes under them. As her son grows, so does the belt. You just move the billet up to the next set of holes and fill in the previous ones with new conchos. Tom
  7. Thank you. Now if I could only cut a decent circle. Tom
  8. I just saw the coin purse and I think I'm gonna have to make one of those. I agree, they are pretty cool. Tom
  9. I just looked at it and it is a Blackhawk. I got it at the hardware store. My friend there ordered it from Ellot Borthers I think. I paid $24 for the 1911 and $25 for the G17. Thank you for the compliments guys. Tom

Thanks 8th. Still trying to find my place in the leather world. Tom
  11. It's actually a gray plastic replica used for molding. Tom
  12. I got rid the cookies and now it's ok. Only I didnt have any milk to go with the cookies. Tom
  13. Yep, I learned that the hard way. Oh yeah, your fingers stick to the leather too. Also another learning lesson. Only lost alittle skin. Tom
  14. Thanks Bruce and Randy, I'm trying to improve with each project. I want to try different things till I find my niche in the leather world. Here's a shot of the back. Tom
  15. Thanks David. Right now I'm in the middle of a belt I gotta make for a lady at Food Lion so it might be awhile before it's done. Just finished another holster and I think it turned out pretty good except for the stitching. Tom
  16. I just got the Golck replica so I wanted to try and make a holster for it and this is what I ended up with. I really screwed the pooch on the stitching around the belt loop. I wanted it to be round. I wasnt paying attention to what I was doing and let the stitching groover get away from me so it ended up square instead of round like I wanted, but other than that I like it. Still need to practice my molding. The finish is just 2 coats of TAN-KOTE. Tom
  17. I agree with DavidG, great pics. They have some nice looking stuff. I particulary like the bags and drinking vessels. I'm gonna have to try my hand at that. Looks like they used the wax method. I'll have to try and get to one of those events looks like fun. Tom
  18. I like that. The stamping really sets the whole thing off. What kind of finish do you use on the inside of your holsters. Tom
  19. Well here's how it turned out. I think I need a little more practice on this but it looks a whole lot better than what I was doing. Thanks for the help. Tom
  20. Ask and yee shall receive. Ya gotta love the folks here at Leatherworker. Thanks everyone. Tom
  21. How can I make a decent looking end to this. All my knots look like, knots. Just want my peice to look better on the inside and out. Thanks, Tom
  22. Heye ,thanks for all the imput and compliments they mean alot to me. But I cant take all the credit. It was with "alot" of help from from you guys that the peice has even gotten this far. As for the leather it is a heavy 4oz. I gotta go to the motorcycle shop and see if its ok to change their logo alittle, just need to bend it alittle to make it fit. Thanks again everyone. Now I need to break out the pencil and paper. Tom

Just a few more practice braids. The 9 strand braid is about 32 inchs. Made it out of 1/4" lace I cut from 3/4 oz. leather. Tom
  24. Nope, didn't work. I'm still getting the same error message. Tom
