I'm still working. Have you ever tried to change the oil in your car while it's driving 70 mph down the highway? Please be patient, it will get fixed.

If you want things not to change or to have a say in them then I suggest you fork over about $500/month for a license for the software they use here, probably about $1200.00 for a server for a year, put in a lot of work getting advertisers to advertise to try and defray costs and then get 30,000 members. Then have the same attitude you have with the owners here and see how long your members stick around. She's doing her best, probably along with holding down a full time day job so how about you cut her some slack.

  2. as I said before  who's idea was this ? can't find anything. no pictures are posted any more . from what I can see is when  something is working okay ,.someone  desides it needs to be changed. now it doesn't work and all of this for progress.

pardon me for being blunt but as we are not staff nor are we owners, the owner doesn't have to consult every member before making a change. I'm sure there was a good reason for the upgrade (security patch, etc) that they decided was needed. As with any upgrade, the potential for issues is there and unfortunately it happened here. I'm sure they are working with the software provider on getting things fixes. Just cut them some slack and go enjoy being with your family this Easter weekend if seeing the board like this upsets you that bad.

  3. who's idea was this

  4. started working leather 71 went to school in 83 other than leather work for orthotic and prosthetic first thing I've tried in all those years. sone as I find the bike i'll post another pic.
  5. Not the glue the rawhide is damp. You get the rawhide wet mold it. Then apply the glue let dry ,while the rawhide is damp reattach and then try and sew. Hey this could be all messed up I was just asking
  6. the old one I sewed years ago was 41 mag red hawk with a hog leg holster and full belt . made it out 8-9 oz tooling and lined had to sew the loops by hand . is there a way to sew loops with a cb4500 hey just asking
  7. time will tell. just ordered a new CB4500 so keep a look out and i'll see if it can be done. going to try elk rawhide
  8. has anyone ever tried to sew rawhide on a harness machine say on a holster that you have molded rawhide on the around the edge. Can it be glued in place and then sewed while its still damp ? or will it have the tendency to move or slip around. years ago I sewed one by hand , and it looked great and it stiffened the holster up quit nicely . I traded it years ago and its probly up in Alaska still.
  9. Do you still have it. What thread and what thickness will it sew?
  10. hi not sure which machine you have ? I'd use D/E size thread in the bobbin its the same as z-69 size. now if its the larger of the 2 bobbins I'd use z-99 on the top. you can buy pre-wound bobbins small bobbin no paper shuttle. larger bobbin use the paper shuttle type . large size sells by the gross and the small by the 1/2 gross they come in 3 colors white ,black ,brown and I have seen a tan years ago. so you still might find it. here in the USA coats is the only one I've found that seems to work. but who knows? since rice was bought out years ago. places like Ralph's industrial sewing machine in Denver caries a lot of thread under there name. hope this helps
  11. the wood clamp looks like a old limb makers vise for clamping a wooden prosthetic leg in to and maybe filling or rasping in to shape something to hold it in place while you worked on it . be nice to have but its not worth it to me. nice stitching horse.
  12. since I've never used Sheridan leather because I lived in Sheridan for 5 years and they had the show in the spring the company never existed . till when ever. I and everyone used Montana leather out of billings Montana . I think you will be pleasantly surprised with their service and their prices. they even deliver if your with in so many miles. after joe retired john picked it up for them. I've used them for nearly 35 years now. when I lived in Montana, Wyoming, south Dakota, and now iowa. they cater to the shoe and boot trade and the saddle makers and everyone inbetween. they are also tied in with McPherson out of seattle i think they are brothers , I even changed our supplier from southern to Montana leather when I got at the last job I had before I retired /
  13. can't seem to be able to post the pictures
  14. these are not for sale . and i'll get some pictures taken . I found or picked up some nos of harness buckles they are nothing like what you can buy today they're marked England 1/2 , 5/8 , 3/4 , 1" wonder when these were made
  15. send me your phone number and we can talk
  16. here's the truth of the matter I won't have my money till after the first if march and I need to see what shipping common carrier will run . my guess is at least 200. if I bought new it would run about 3000 and all the bows and whistles come with it. and if you go any lower ,you'd be better to pay the restocking fee. or have you had it longer than 30 days. its not that I don't want it ,but for any reason I have no one to go back on. so if every thing is true , then is 500 a big enough incentive. . what was the cost to have it shipped to you ?
  17. its what I'm looking for . your further than the dealer. and no support from the seller.
  18. so your selling a 4500 for 95 less than new or do yours come with the 400 dollar accessories package
  19. 25 -30 years ago the leather factory was started didn't they spin off from tandy
  20. who said Tandy leather executives . are very smart . they owned colortile and radio shack or am I mistaken
  21. Well I've done it one better. I've taken the hinged top off and removed the wooden insert that will be tacked in after its been cleaned of old glue and any cracks have been filled and repaired. Now after the wooden board is replaced its ready for the video. My first question is what type of leather is used and what weight. From looking at the Video it's a fairly stiff leather. What type of leather would you use?
  22. has anyone here ever tried there hands at this ? Remove the wooden insert sand and glue and resand the insert. tack or toe nail it back in place. some how glue the leather on and try and be neat. I would rather put the leather on the board than set it in the frame. how am I to attach it? I'm just worried that by gluing it after I toe nail the board in, when I cut the leather on the out side edge theirs no way to get in there and burnish the edge. or am I just over thinking? I know what I want to say just not sure how to say it.
  23. They use to sell what was known as a pegging awl. Don't sell them anymore. I used to do a lot of baseball stitching on round things . The awl I use now is needle in a sewing handle.long tapered and very sharp. Little bees wax on the tip ,less chance of sticking.to the leather.
