  1. Yeah I bet it's CGI! :-P
  2. Anyone want to split out the Barry King stuff? I would like the Maul and probably one swivel knife and the bevelers.
  3. If you decide to part it out I would love the maul.
  4. Though to be fair to our current day the problem of watering down, adulterating, etc, has always been a huge issue and was much worse in certain era's because of the lack of standards and testing. Read what they used to do to coffee to make an extra buck.
  5. Finally sold on eBay after 4 re-listings.
  6. Incredible work! I love it! As a side note, what is that beautiful modeling tool you have there?
  7. I just purchased some of this guy's stuff and I can't detect a hint of smoke smell on it. It has a pleasant, honey smell and for my purposes 5 oz shipped for $8 is great. https://www.etsy.com/listing/211112524/100-pure-natural-beeswax-bars-1-oz-bulk?ref=shop_home_active_23
  8. Beautiful work! Makes me want to do one for my helmet... I guess I should check with the chief to see if we are allowed to do black out shields. If you don't mind sharing what finish do you use for these? I would like to make some but am unsure of what finish would be tough enough. Oh and your lettering template is genius! Why the heck didn't I think of that sooner? Thanks!
  9. For pure black Fiebings Pro Oil should work. I believe any acrylic paint will work for the red area as long as you have a topcoat finish. http://springfieldleather.com/ has a great selection of products. I have never purchased from Zack White but here is a strip that might work: http://www.zackwhite.com/3in-Natural-Vegetable-Tanned-Leather-Strips--XXL-Length_p_1372.html
  10. Approximately how large are the mag pouch blanks?
  11. This is a very common problem that I have yet to solve but keeping the stitch runs as short as practical helps some.
  12. So it's normal for the a new bottle of neatsfoot oil to smell kind of rancid? I'm tempted to go to the local tandy and smell all their oil. :-P
  13. Woohoo! The closing took me by surprise. I am getting most of my stuff from Springfield now but there are a few things I would like to handle in store.
  14. I stand corrected! I will have to experiment with those techniques.
  15. Unfortunately not, I don't think much of anything resists oil dyes.
  16. So I guess I have an odd wife then as she likes the smell of Original Weldwood.
  17. I haven't done one of these but you could maybe try bag stiffener with a light lining leather. https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/bag-stiffener
  18. I'm guessing you are referring to Fiebing's Professional Oil Dyes or do you use their regular dyes?
  19. I figured the same, It would be a shame to give less than $200 for that collection.
  20. I have a brand new Tandy B936 beveler for sale: $6 shipped. https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/b936-craftool-beveler-stamp
  21. Thanks guys! Yeah I kind of held my breath when they fit it. :-) Any good quality veg tan leather will work nicely in the 4-6 range. I think this leather is 5/6.
  22. My latest, and most complex, tooled cover to date. Really happy with how the Roma Shoulders from Tandy tooled. I am still brand new to this craft and it was my first time using a premium leather and tooling something this complex. Sorry, no pictures with the bible inserted. This was made based on specifications given as it was to be gifted and turned out to be an exact fit *whew*
