  1. And let's be brutally honest here. If you are making stuff to sell the only reason you want a better price is to make more profit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but why complain about the other guy making money? I was really happy to find some great pricing from SLC over Tandy wholesale because now every project that goes out the door leaves a few extra dollars in my pocket.
  2. I should have added the caveat that this is wholesale business. The flip side is the close personal attention to each and every customer that you receive at a 70 year old family owned hardware store like I work for but it is recognized and accepted that the prices are higher. You go to wal-mart and they literally have no customer service in the aisles and that's ok because you pay nothing for their products.
  3. I just donated these to a local arts and crafts place. Can a mod delete this thread? Thanks!
  4. Anyone ever used something like this on their 1 ton arbor press? https://www.etsy.com/listing/290518955/5-x-5-clicker-press-for-your-arbor-press?ref=hp_rv
  5. I honestly don't grasp the people that complain about wholesale pricing minimums and structures. That is how business is done, high volume customers cost less per sale than finicky, low volume, often ignorant customers, it's not rocket science. It costs less to sell, loyalty is expensive, you pass on some of your savings and life moves on. I have spent most of my working life in customer service and its hilarious how self important and demanding a lot of small businesses are. You spend 30 minutes taking a $500 order from a big shot retailer who wants to be treated with kid gloves and get the very best pricing because they are so important and the the next phone call is under five minutes for $5,000.
  6. One of my number one gripes in any forum has always been the lack of searching both the forum and google. Yes, sometimes its hard but seriously they invented google for a reason... Granted, I worked IT for awhile where google search skills are one of the most important parts of the job. LOL
  7. Ok, thanks! Sorry but I am just looking for the smallest edger available right now.
  8. If he doesn't take them I'd like the 0 CS Osborne
  9. Nigel Armitage has 11 detailed videos reviewing almost every option available.
  10. Absolutely, for that type of product a 2x markup is where retail would start. Give the wholesalers a 10-20% off and call it an acceptable margin to stay in business and pay your employees. If you are manufacturing 5x raw materials is standard.
  11. Beautiful work! I don't suppose you would mind sharing where you found the tooling pattern or did you sketch it out yourself? I have a customer who wants a tri-fold wallet tooled in something nice for her husband who loves to hunt deer and turkey.
  12. I'm assuming the errors must be in the small details if they exist because this picture looks very well done.
  13. Very nice work indeed, I echo the comment on edges, they are beautiful!
  14. Dang, if Weldwood isn't as strong smelling as Barge than I don't want to smell Barge...

  16. Beautiful work! That reminds me, I need to make a holster set for my M&P Compact.
  17. Yeah, I had a #1 grade pre-cut that was a #2 at best and they just refunded the entire cost.
  18. I have 31 5/8 x 3/4 Brass Plated D-Rings I'm looking to sell for $12 delivered to anywhere in the USA.
  19. On a slightly different note, what are your thoughts on "stealing" someone else's design idea? Do you typically contact them and ask them if you can use it or is reverse engineering based on photos considered ok? For example, this Carving Thumb Guard is a cool idea that looks fast and easy to make with a good profit margin, is it ok to basically rip off the design since it is so universal?
