Maybe you could try this: Since all of the tubes have the same size threads, remove a tube that you don’t often use and replace it with the tube whose hole has been damaged.

You might consider picking up a variable speed Dremel moto-tool. I've been using their cordless model for about two years to both burnish and sand 3/4 oz Chromexcel. If you Google leather burnishing tool dremel you will find a wide selection of burnishing bits.

You might want to try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It will help greatly with the smell and the char on the edges.

I recently ordered a "Pro-Thermal Tool Handle", the adapter for glazing tools and assorted glazing tools from Campbell-Randall for heating leather edges for wax or Fenice paints. The are in the process of moving to a new location, which has disrupted their service a little bit, but give them a chance, you won't be sorry. http://www.campbell-randall.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=74_110&product_id=14464 http://www.campbell-randall.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=74_110&product_id=14465

HELP! What is this edge called and how do I get it?
LatigoAmigo replied to kozhanumbers's topic in How Do I Do That?
Check out this link. One answer might be the application of Fenice edge paint on chrome finished leathers. A representative of Campbell-Randall explains the proper application of this fine edge finishing product. -

http://www.campbell-randall.com/ carries Fenice edge paint. Somewhere in the LW site someone explains how to apply it. There are other paint choices but Fenice works for me.
