Gary, That looks awesome!! You got a very happy friend I imagine!! How did you attach it to the bike, I can see the upper portion looks to be tucked under the glass trim piece, did you cement the rest?

So I took my wallet and journal to work yesterday (pictures posted in showoff area) and one of my coworkers order a trifold wallet with a tooled border and his initials. Woot, my first job that is not a friend or family member!!!!! now.. what do I charge???? I am going to use the Tandy kit for the insert and then a piece of Herman and Oak for the shell (outside) piece... He wants just a simple border and then I am going to use letter stamps for his intials. Does $40 seem to steep? Brad

Watermarks across the picture is quite effective, just make it translucent

Are you using metal drill bits and not wood? Maybe try a diamond tipped drill bit?

Thanks Spider!

As the other have stated the Tandy books are good, but I am new to leather working myself and I think I have learned more here than from anywere else, you have found a great site!! Welcome!!!

That looks really good!! It intrigues me enough I may have to give it a try!!

Which is the best route to go, I just tested my batch that has been sitting a week and it works great... But not sure which to do first the tooling and then dying with the vinegaroon or the other way around. Will dunking it and rinsing it after tooling make the leather swell and ruin the tooling? I guess I could do a test piece....

HEHE, Tom! I am actually on the website about to push purchase, trying to decide if I should talk to the wife first or just ask for forgiveness once it gets here. That is one wicked ride!!!

Those are great, I too like the way the straps go into the sole and leave no bumps! Where did you find the pattern?
