  1. Thanks guys. These have sorta become my niche over here with hunters, hikers, equestrians, and now, bikers! They help pay for my addiction to leather work.
  2. Haha. Andrew's has good stuff though, I can only aspire to such skill. The building wasn't so hard, I just had a dang hard time "not" drawing a pancake! The older i get the harder it is to change I guess. I think i understand it now though. It just looks so different designing it.
  3. I've been wanting to do one of these for a while now. After watching Adam's Leather Work video on this about 10 times I finally got my head wrapped around it. This one is for me so the logo is on the front. Made for my Springfield Armory Xd9 sub compact.
  4. I like this a lot! Nice color. And I really like the mag pouch. Very Lee Marvin.
  5. Very nice! Customer must shoot IDPA or some similar sport. I carried 4 when on the range. Some stages call for multiple reloads/mag change.
  6. That's pretty nice! I like the reloads. And there is no way to draw a barrel that long fast. My guess is he grabs the bottom left strap with his left hand and the handle in his right. But now else could you carry it dressed as he is? I found a fox skin at a garage sale last year. Gave a buck for it and have yet to use it. Looking for someone who is a frontiersman who could use it as it should be.
  7. I use cheap white cotton washcloths. I box a box full at a garage sale for cheap. They work well for edges and I throw them in the machine with the dog and golf towels. You'll never get the stain out, but who cares? I also get all of the wife's discarded kitchen towels.
  8. Very nice! I like the color as well.
  9. Good luck. I have a cobra class 3 and have had no problems that weren't traceable to the operator. Wish I would've got the class 4. That little extra would be handy sometimes.
  10. I use a silicone applicator for glue. I think I got it at tandy. It was a 2 pack, large and small. The small one worked fine but tore after a while. The large was just too big, so I cut it down and this is doing well.
  11. No, not thinned. Applied with a dauber, one coat circular, another one way, then the other, at one time. Let dry overnight. I do have to say not every bottle is ths same. The last "light brown" I bought was considerably darker. I also do a "streaked" look that folks like. I just start at one corner and drag the dauber across diagonally. It leaves heavier and lighter streaks across the leather. Questions are how we learn, I have many! Also, I dye before wet molding.
  12. Yes, it would. But if you look close you can see a strap on the lower left that goes to the belt. That halts upward movement of the holster, but is still loose enough to not interfere with movement. Good call! That was the first mod I made for this type of rig.
  13. I too got mine as scrap. $5 for a piece about 24x18. Still using it. Want get a larger one for the desk I use now. Keeping my eyes open.
  14. Finished this one this week. Just handed it off to the customer this afternoon. He rides bikes and has never been comfortable with any kind of a hip holster.
  15. Pretty cool! I do a few pocket holsters and leave the flesh side out. I'll have to start tooling them now!
  16. I just got started using the empty markers from the buckle guy. Much better than any results I had with a dauber. Pretty inexpensive too.
  17. That looks great! I just finished another one, I'll post it separately. These are great holsters. And while this is your first, I doubt it will be your last!
  18. Yeah, all of that above. Thank you.. Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my.. Dorothy should have had a gun...
