  1. I've had that happen. Bummer..
  2. 2 stamp borders. Gonna borrow that! Nice job.
  3. I've used many variants of beeswax and paraffin. I use a powered burnisher, not an iron, and have come to the conclusion that pure beeswax is best for my uses. After burnishing, I go over it with a piece of canvas and that takes care of any tackiness there may be. I have a small crockpot I bought at goodwill and keep beeswax in it. When I need another chunk I plug it in and after it melts I spoon a small bit into a mold and chuck the last of the used one in the pot. Unplug, let cool, back on the shelf until I need another. I've never noticed any particular odor, but I'm not allergic so probably dont pay much attention to it.
  4. Where do you even get it?
  5. You're welcome. I would be interested in the pattern of this. I'm debating joing the local shotgun club. Isn't it great that crafters from the absolute different sides of the country can share in real time? I hate to date myself, but I can remember calling mom collect when I drove home in 6 hours and she would refuse the call just so she would know I made it home. Today, most people don't even know what long distance calls were.
  6. That, my friend, is very sweet. The seams work well, and the finish is very nice.
  7. What the heck is embalming thread?
  8. I generally do a reinforcing piece but dang I like that detail! I get what your saying about the ejection port, you gan get great detail and relieve it from the inside and keep the lines. Very nice!
  9. Jls, did I see somewhere you had a post about getting rid of the foot prints? I'm trying to blend mine but would love to get rid of them. I have a cobra class 3. Any advice would be appreciated. No thread hijack intended.
  10. I made a chest rig for a 9.5` 44 mag. My post is still up in holsters, super redhawk 44mag with aimpoint. Mine sit a bit more diagonally and have a different strap set up. Might work.
  11. Yeah, I found that in my files after your previous comment. I use your method for my pancakes. Just forgot you provided this as well.
  12. Flat backs? I'd like to see them. Might be something I'd like to play around with. Heck, I'd like to know how to get all my hand drawn patterns into the computer. Do you just copy them? I dont draw mine up on a program.
  13. Thanks guys. These have sorta become my niche over here with hunters, hikers, equestrians, and now, bikers! They help pay for my addiction to leather work.
  14. Haha. Andrew's has good stuff though, I can only aspire to such skill. The building wasn't so hard, I just had a dang hard time "not" drawing a pancake! The older i get the harder it is to change I guess. I think i understand it now though. It just looks so different designing it.
  15. I've been wanting to do one of these for a while now. After watching Adam's Leather Work video on this about 10 times I finally got my head wrapped around it. This one is for me so the logo is on the front. Made for my Springfield Armory Xd9 sub compact.
  16. I like this a lot! Nice color. And I really like the mag pouch. Very Lee Marvin.
  17. Wow, just, wow...
  18. Very nice! Customer must shoot IDPA or some similar sport. I carried 4 when on the range. Some stages call for multiple reloads/mag change.
  19. That's pretty nice! I like the reloads. And there is no way to draw a barrel that long fast. My guess is he grabs the bottom left strap with his left hand and the handle in his right. But now else could you carry it dressed as he is? I found a fox skin at a garage sale last year. Gave a buck for it and have yet to use it. Looking for someone who is a frontiersman who could use it as it should be.
  20. I use cheap white cotton washcloths. I box a box full at a garage sale for cheap. They work well for edges and I throw them in the machine with the dog and golf towels. You'll never get the stain out, but who cares? I also get all of the wife's discarded kitchen towels.
  21. Very nice! I like the color as well.
  22. Pandora, progressive bluegrass.
  23. Good luck. I have a cobra class 3 and have had no problems that weren't traceable to the operator. Wish I would've got the class 4. That little extra would be handy sometimes.
