You machine is identical to what we sell & it should make a nice tight looking stitch.The most common problem is people forget to wrap the thread around the side (or second) tension 1 & 1/2 times.You have to do this as this tension is a rolling tension & doing it that way makes the thread grip the roller better. Hello, It looks like a machine Chandler used to import years ago,we used to sell alot of them,the problem is the shuttle & bobbins were just alittle smaller than standard 29 machines. Bob

Well the tension unit is supposed to create tension & usually it needs to be real tight,now if it's getting stuck are you saying it won't pull out at all? Or is it breaking the thread?

The .055 should be a #22 or metric#140 Bob

We stock them in #18,19,20,21,22. Bob

If your thread isn't pulled in between the tension discs it'll do this everytime. Bob

The best thing to do is take all the stuff off the top of your table,turn it upside down,take the new motor & line it up with the belt slot & mark it & drill from underneath,mount motor & flip table over & re-install the stuff you took off,hookup belt & have fun. Bob

The safety clutch kicked out & the spring that fell out goes behind the fish hook looking part of the clutch,so the way to reset it it,lay the machine back so you can look at the belt pulley,push the fish hook part towards the matching cutout part on the collar & then push the button on the bed(the one on the right)down & turn the handwheel backwards & it'll re-engage it.If it's tight you should put some oil around the hook & rock the handwheel back & forth to get it released. The Sewpro servo is different than standard serovs most people sell as it will run alot slower since it has a builtin gear reducer in it.To get the speed as slow as this one with a regular servo you'll need to buy a speed reducer & then try lining everything up when you install it.Oh, the speed reducers sell for around $125 add that to $130.00 or so for a Servo & the Sewpro is a better buy. We been selling alot of lately & alot in stock. Bob

Is this a 110W125? What did you want to sew when you bought this machine?You know it only makes real short stitches.What kind of motor is on it?Servo motor or clutchmotor? Bob

I always tell people to just use the clear oil on the whole machine.I've already had machines in that people use grease & seen roller get flat spots on them when the grease dries out.So just oil it ever 8 hrs use or if it sets a while oil before using it. Don't forget to oil the shuttle everytime you use a bobbin of thread,just a drop somwere on the edge of the hole that it sets in. Bob

Well depending on condition,if it has a stand,sews or not the price can vary from $1-$3,500. the 99 is a home machine that will just barely sew chaps probably worth $25.00 tops(if it sews) Bob

The 7-31 will sew maybe 1/2" thick of leather,but has some large & feed dogs the the bottom that can leaves marks on the bottom of the leather. Bob

While it does look like a real nice machine,I've sold them & different needle plates for sewing things like stirrups,holsters & etc along with the feet are not available.They will just barely sew the 15mm & it would have to be a soft leather only.I'm not saying this beacuse I sell them but the feet,plates & any other spares are much easier to buy & lower price than for this machine. Also the 441 style of machine will sew much heavy & feed better.There should be some used Juki or clone 441's over there for sale.If I were I would wait for one. Bob

I hate to say this but" if it ain't broke don't fix it" So anyways don't worry your not the first person I know that's done this. If you look at the position of the shuttle driver it should look like this on the upstroke of the needlebar.Your machine has no adjustments,once you get the gears set properly so the shuttle driver is as in the pic it'll sew. Ok, just thought I'd jump in here & let you know Adler made a 30-1,-5&-7 & the newer square casting 30-10,-50 & 70 The 30-1 & 30-10 are long arm small bobbin,the 30-5 & 50 has a large bobbin & the 30-7 & 70 has the high lift that will sew almost 3/8" of leather.

I meant #69 nylon thread which is what alot of upholstery people use,yes we sell that thread. Bob

Years ago we used to put welting feet & sell them to people for a cheap upholstery machine.

The 15-91 is one of Singers heaviest home machine they ever bbuilt.If you interested in sewing leather it will use #69 with some minor tension tightening.The gear drive on the motor gives it the power to punch through leather over 1/4" it would make a great low priced wallet,purse or chap machine Bob

This machine is made for thin type of thread & sewing clothes.You might be able to sew #92 thread,#69 will work better,alittle over 1/4" thick of leather,so it'll have to be thin holsters if you want to use this machine.Plus it has the bottom feed(no walking foot) so it'll leave track marks on the bottom. This would handle chaps ok. HTH Bob

Back in the day when this machine was made they only had linen thread & hot wax,that's why they had the heaters on them.They kept the whole machine warm so the wax wouldn't harden.Most people use nylon thread on them now. We do have needles & awls in stock. Bob
