  1. Actually, Bill hired somebody smarter to do the work, then sold it as his own. Those hippies in California had the Mouse first, and Bill stole the idea. So kiddies, THAT is how you get rich
  2. Check out arbalet12. He is in Bulgaria, and does some wonderful stuff in metal working. If that doesn't work for you, there is a company here in the States that does casting work Holster Gun Molds | Boise Foundry . Check with arbalet first, he would be closer and easier to work with.
  3. I have to agree with the Cowboy, those circles around the anchor do nothing but confuse. Other than that, it's a good starting point. Keep working on it, and you'll get to where you want to be.
  4. How well does the kydex work? It seems like it would be a lot easier to work with.
  5. Some of the bigger name gun belts have a metal blank sandwiched in between the layers. Never thought about doing it myself
  6. Thanks Josh. I can't remember if I have even heard a term for the strap, let alone a style name. But anything has to be better than "A strap that holds the holster to the skirt"
  7. The style is a full skirt holster, but unlike the Mexican Loop, the strap is either inserted through slots in the skirt, sewn or riveted to the skirt. What is this strap style called?
  8. At the $200+ range, are there many people buying? I mean, I could see some of the gun people spending $100 or more on a holster, and not bat an eye. But I honestly can't say I know anybody that would pay that for a belt. On the other side of that coin, I have seen women spend $3-$5k on a purse, and not bat an eye. It is funny how the world works, ain't it?
  9. I would first have to question "Why"? You could likely create a duplicate out of leather that would be every bit as effective, and have the basket weave and the safety features, without making that one even clunkier.
  10. Springfield has them, and I think Tandy does too. You might also try Weavers, or go on Amazon and find a better deal.

That is a really creative approach Sir. Nicely done!

Those really are some nice looking holsters. How do you attach your cross straps? Are they sewed on or riveted?
  13. That looks really good! Nice work!
  14. That is a cool idea, I've just been using a cheap .75 cent butane lighter, like the $1.50 "Thread Burners" they sell in the Springfield catalogue As far as your shield, couldn't you accomplish the same thing if the brass had a slit, instead of a hole? I think it might be easier than threading that hole.
  15. You are preaching to the choir... sez the guy who just finished handstitching a 5' belt. Belts... Why did it have to be belts?
  16. Have you tried the search feature? Lots of stuff here already.
  17. Aside from the one corner looking a little funky, it came out nice. Is that machine stitched?
  18. Hopefully while sober. Otherwise, the blood may spill
  19. Maybe one of those light weight wood hammers that Tandy sells for about $3, and glue a piece of leather on the face to protect your project?
  20. Those don't look bad at all. Personally, I would have cut them back a little at the top, leaving more hilt to grab on to.

If I could move it, and had room, I'd take it
  22. I don't use edge coat often these days, but I use a fine pint brush. Takes forever... which is why I don't use it much.
  23. Those are right pretty! I like to see some holsters with a little personality
  24. There was a post on here a while back, the lady called it "Care and Feeding". That is a list I'd like as well. I tell people to treat them like a pair of fine leather shoes. Military folks understand it, but the average person is used to sneakers... or flip flops if they are from Flordida.
