gimp is great....but it's got a severe learning curve....it's not as intuitive as it could be...but VERY effective and EXTREMELY functional

i used to use JASC paint shop pro...it's really close to photoshop and it was an extremely good primer for transfering to actual photoshop...alot of the functions are the same.. i'm not really THAT good with photoshop...but it's enjoyable enough to where i can fake it

the easiest way to solve this is to pick the portion of your question that is the most important bit of information...such as a faded sadle..true it's a saddle, true it's a dye issue...but isn't your main question how to restore it back to it's original glory? i'd think that would be a restoration question...if you can't get down to the basics like that...it's actually best to go in the other direction and put it in the place that's the most generally related...such as the saddle areaand if all else fails...we'll move it to the right place for you a good method for finding out about new posts and things like that is to pick a section that REALLY interests you (i'm sure not every section in the place appeals to you)...and subscribe to that forum as a daily digest....the forum will automatically email you once a day with links to every new topic started in the forum since the last email you got..of course this will cause you to get more email...but you would only subscrive to the areas taht most interest you...so it should probably be like 4 or 5 emails a day i personally think we've got just about the right amount of sections rellative to the amount of content we have...each section is named in a logical fashion so it's not a guessing game as to what's been posted inside of them...and they're ordered in a pretty clean method as well

this (among MANY other reasons) are why i'm glad that i don't have kids (and a big reason why i shouldn't be allowed to have them)...i was spending time with a cousin and her two bra...er...uh...wonderful lovely angelic children....i was handing out cake or something and the girl (read: Hellspawn) started screaming bloody murder because her brother got a bigger piece of cake...my reply "it's because you're adopted and no one loves you...go cry in the corner and eat your cake"....i don't take care of their kids any more

frankly...(or Finkly maybe?)...as a general rule...if you're not an Ed Roth fan...i don't have any desire to converse with you

what are the same specs on the 22w adapter? i would suspect that you run the risk of either causing more damage to the device or blowing out bulbs at a surprising rate (do to them being underpowered)...could even start a fire (though i wouldn't expect that)

happy b-day oh fearless leather leader....whatever you do on your bday....make sure it doesn't leave bruises

dsenette replied to Cowboy Crafts Online's topic in Saddle Supplies, Tools & Trees
i thought you guys had calmed down? one more outburst and this thread is closed....how hard is it to keep it civil? I'm closing this thread since the title is "Rod Nikkel- Tree Maker" and the topic has gotten off track. Johanna -

as I'm sure everyone knows, tomorrow is the 4th of July....most places it's just another day in another month but in the U.S. it's Independance Day which marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring U.S. independence from Great Britain. It's a time most often celebrated with fireworks displays and parades in some places (along with copious amounts of grilling and imbibing of "adult beverages"). so what are YOU doing tomorrow to celebrate the occasion? I plan of following our most recent tradition (of the past 3 or so years) of going to our friends' house out on the outskirts of town (surprisingly in the middle of one of the richest, hoitiest, toitiest areas around Knoxville) for an obscene amount of deviled eggs, hamburgers, hot dogs, and possibly a brew or two (think I'm gonna pick up some Old Speckled Hen from the world market....mmmm). But being the EXTREME pyromaniac that i am, the main attraction will be the fireworks display that me and my friend let loose on the neighborhood...we're USUALLY pretty safe...but on occasion things happen... 2 years ago we had two catastrophic failures.... the first one involved a "mortar" type firework being put into the wrong sized launch tube by someone ( :whistling: )...if you've never fired this type of firework...it's basically a ball (or canister) filled with gunpowder and effects type deals with a "launch" charge on the bottom of the ball with a fuse...you drop this ball into a cardboard tube, light the fuse and get back...the launch charge ignites (sounding like a cannon) and sends the ball with the effects soaring into the sky, at which point that ball explodes and spreads out the little stars (that are burning about the same temperature as the sun) in the sky....well if you put one of these things in a launch tube that's too large...the launch charge can't build up enough pressure behind the effects ball to launch it into the sky so it stays in the tube (and mocks you by calling your mother names) until it explodes showering the yard (including an 11 year old 3 drunk girls 4 drunk dudes and a pregnant lady) with burning hot balls of metal...extremely entertaining for me....everyone else finished watching the show from inside the second failure was NOT my fault...we've got a favorite firework....the Texas rattlesnake (if you see one of these in your local fireworks store...get 12...they're awesome)...this is one of those "brick" style fireworks that has a bunch of little tubes with self contained non re loadable mortar type charges in each tube, and it's fused in such a way that these launches are all timed very well so it puts on a really nice show...well my friend put one of these on top of one that we had already shot earlier (not a good idea) so when it fired it tipped over...of course by all laws of the "idiots with fireworks soon cause damage" principle it fell pointing towards the house (and everyone who had decided that it was safe enough to come back outside after the last snafu) and began to unleash it's fury upon us...now this thing's not a giant firework...but it's got a "program" (as the pros sometimes call it) that lasts for at least 40 seconds...so since this thing fell over after the first shot...we had approximately 35 seconds of "OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD" moments ahead of us...when the onslaught finally finished we looked over to see one of our (particularly inebriated) friends sitting in a lawn chair...he apparently hadn't moved through the entire ordeal, with burning embers of death whizzing past his head... when questioned about his experience he could only say "That was real? i thought it was the whiskey" that year consisted of approximately $175 to $200 worth of fireworks...this year we should have about $300....so...hopefully it should be good...and even more hopefully...I'll still have fingers to type with on Thursday

as a personal note bill...make sure (if possible) to get one of the drives that has external power (i.e. plugs into the wall for its' juice)...a USB port doesn't REALLY have the juice to fully power a modern hard drive....especially the front ports....it will work...but the externally powered ones are 10 times more reliable

well i guess that's the one good thing about it...they get paid whether you hang up in their face, listen to them patiently, or mess with their heads....so i don't feel as bad about being a little bit of a jerk

i used to act like i was a telemarketer for a different company when they called me...like...they called me right at the second that i was calling them....before they could get a word out i'd start with "hello this is bob from teleweird mega corp, how's your long distance situation?"...uh wait...i'm calling you to see if you want to buy X product.. "oh well perfect then...you must make alot of long distance calls then?"....worked pretty well most of the time...they'd get frustrated and hang up
-
also...don't forget to register with the DNC list for your state (and some places city) government as well...some states have different rules and signing up on both the state and federal lists will help overlap those rules to cut down on more calls

i don't know of the COMPLETE accuracy of either of these two statments....but with a 7 year old computer...you've surely got a 7 year old video card...that video card is probably not capable of the resolution settings that an LCD monitor is capable of using.. the part about the widescreen probably has some truth in it...an older graphics card wouldn't know how to display anything widescreen for sure.. however...i THINK that even with an older computer you'd be able to get an LCD/Plasma screen to work assuming that it's got a VGA input and that it's a square monitor not widescreen at all... another concideration is that with LCD/plasma monitors....there's a setting in XP called "clear type" which makes the text on the screen alot crisper....if your computer has XP then this would help it is possible that you could upgrade your video card to take care of ever last one of these issues though....the processor or age of the computer as a whole has no real bearing on the display resolution...that's all controlled by the graphics card..you could probably find a lower end PCI graphics card that would work perfectly on your ocmputer at bestbuy or any other computer shop for $100 or so.
