  1. Trust me, don't make apologizes for charging for your "ART". As a Tattoo artist I am constantly reminding my customers that Art has Value and that they should pay accordingly. It takes time From the Concept, work up, tat up, clean up... and time IS money. (They would rather get it for nothing ). Same goes for Leather.... and Kudos to you for going for that degree! Although It looks like you have a future in Leather
  2. Nice work! So, what do you charge for 6-9 hrs worth of work (1 belt)?
  3. WOW! Beautiful Work. Really like the Steer head one !

I would say charge what the market will bare. That being said, what you make is a unique piece of hand crafted ART! So, there is probly not pre-made market to compare with. Part of finding the right price to charge is finding the right Clientele for you to allow to purchase YOUR art work! I would charge $25 -30 per rose and $65-120 for the Vase depending on how much time you have in to them (amount of tooling) I would think You could probably contact your local florist and arrange some kind of consignment agreement. Or get hooked up w/ a Florist organization. They pay $55-95 for roses that are dead in a week or 2. Your leather Roses are permanent, will not wilt, rot , go bad. There are people who would pay $500 or more for a permanent display of ones love. Your customer is not the usual walmart shopper, Your customers are ones who see value in artistic endeavors, and as such are willing to pay to own them. So you will have to find them.... Home Decorators, Florist, Art shows... etc... Do not go Bargain Basement. my 2 cents.
  5. Cool Idea...have to steal that been using extra guns laying around to hold the leather as I cut it....yours is a much better Idea
  6. The tooling is very nice! I'm not one of the Leather Guru's, and may not be qualified to make any comments, but in the interest of comradere and self improvement...I make the following comments; 1. I would smooth out the tooling ( pound lines) a little with a modeler 2. I use a slicker on my finished stitched to flatten and even them up a little ( careful not to burnish the leather around them) 3. After making my stitching holes, I grove out the Flesh side of the leather too. 4. I use a piece of scrap leather flesh side down (rub lightly) to "Clean" light colored stitching. (<- just a tip in-case you ever use white thread) you maybe doing these things already... cant tel from pics.... Thanks for listening
  7. Well done! I too am a metal detecting hound (when the weather is right LOL). and I can see the the definite benefit.
