  1. Kevin 1st off I want to thank you as a business owner with the knowledge and experience that you bring to this forum(not brown nosing). I was just on the Chaylor Fennelli web site http://chaylor.com/ and wondering if you'll have access to the entire product line or certain items only. I went to the hitching post site and saw they stopped carrying the liners. I would buy if you start carrying them. Can their liners be dyed, or do they have a finish on them? Charlie
  2. Very nice. I really like the rope look. Charlie
  3. My gripe is not enough room. We live in a 2 bedroom apt, I rented a storage room to empty out the 2nd bedroom. Then built 3 work benches. I can't multi task because I'm constantly shifting stuff around to have room to work. It's amazing how fast I filled up the room between tools/hides/dye/stain/finishes/hardware. When I'm working and start bumping into stuff I step out of the room, take a few deep breaths and go back to work. Right now I'm recovering from shoulder arthroscopy(August 19th) and getting ready to have it redone because I can't use my left arm very much(pain). So I sit in the shop and think about how to make more room by shifting everything around. Charlie
  4. Read through this post, you'll find links from start to finish for knife sheaths. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19807 Charlie
  5. To make it easier to punch and remove punch, I've learned to keep a chunk of beeswax handy and push my punch into beeswax before punching through leather. Charlie Almost forgot, I use my poly cutting board to do my punching on. When I used the pondo board I had problems.
  6. Hello You can try thinning your dye to lighten it up. You can try Neats foot Oil on your clean leather and take it outside for a suntan. That will give you the most natural look. For the squeak try rubbing some bees wax on the loop or slots of your holster. Then again I've only been leather working about a year. Charlie
  7. Thanks. I can see someone selling some things they don't need, but he makes it seem like it's is personal page for his business.
  8. Why is "aokecut" spamming Leatherwork Conversation forum. 23 posts of for sale in 1 day?
  9. After reading the above, I'm still trying to figure out what your saying.
  10. Maybe someone has tried it to see if theres a difference. Other option is check other suppliers to see if they still have it.
  11. It has to be veg tanned leather for tooling. You also have to case the leather, the process of getting moisture into the leather. Look in the "How do I do that" forum.
  12. The web site still lists ECO-FLO http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/home/department/Liquids/Finishes-Water-Based/2611-137.aspx?feature=Product_2 Charlie
  13. Thank You very much. This had to take a good bit of your time. Sharing is the great thing about this forum. Charlie
  14. I also found it at ST-Leather http://stleather.com/2008-P35.html I just got 2 spray cans and 2 quart cans. It's becoming very hard to find, but I really like the finish, the smell is just a bonus.
  15. Kingsmere Crafts have some pretty good instructions. This page is for making a braided button. If you look at the bottom of the page "site contents" click the arrow for the drop down menu. All their instructions are listed. http://www.kingsmerecrafts.com/page56.html
  16. found this on ebay looks to be to big for a 1" collar. Center of the page. http://shop.ebay.com/bobpolgarsr313/m.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A6%257C72%253A2433&_ipg=&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_pgn=7
  17. Old post, but I just saw this. A true work of art. Charlie
  18. What about clear coat you would use on outside wood. Like on decks or railings. Charlie
  19. "That seems to work pretty well, Charlie. Any way to attach a plate to the ram?" Kate For me it's easier to work with the plate unmounted. But I could countersink a bolt on the plate for mounting in the ram hole. Charlie
  20. I use a 2 ton arbor press with various size steel plates to cover the stamp, depending on the size of the stamping plate. I also took the ram off the press and drilled a 1/2" hole in the end to accept all stamp handles, also some tapped cross holes to hold the handles in. This makes for nice deep 3D stamp impressions. I also wanted a clicker press or the hydraulic press but don't have the room for it. Charlie
  21. http://www.campbell-bosworth.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/1_69 They carry the full Osborne line. Charlie
  22. I don't know if it applies to Tan Eco-Flo Gel Antique but I read in another post to apply Neats Foot Oil on your leather, let it dry. Then apply your antique. What ever you end up doing, try it on scrap leather, when you cut your leather to size, cut some small pc's for testing purposes. Charlie
  23. I got mine here about a month ago. http://www.sdtradingco.com/stamps/probasket.htm bottom of the page Charlie
