Those tools were "A104" and "A105" background tools .... I'm calling this thing "Rosemary's Baby" = it looked terrible when I finished it, but as time goes on and the more I look at it = it's really not that bad = we are our own worst critics, something like that..... Still, is sure not what I was expecting, especially the leaves = I forgot the old axiom "Test before you commit" My biggest complaint with it is there is toooo much background, not enough foliage but I saw too late that this was the way it was coming out etc... -

The good thing about doing a bad job is that ya learn very well ..... Am trying to get patterns /templates made up for future items etc ... This floral design came up way short, but ....... I can see it now after having done it etc etc ...... should be much better next time etc, etc .... Tx's Rohn ............ -
Well ...... Here's second biker wallet, lots to be desired .... But that's life in the big city, I thought it'd be better, but, it is what it is = lots more practice ! ! ! ! I like this wallet design because of the overlaying of another piece of leather over the tooled piece but that cuts down on the tooling real estate to work with = smaller stuff = harder etc, etc ... Thanks to Fonzarellis for his tip ..... The "save all" for a bad tooling job on a biker wallet is to dye it black LOL ! ! Hides all the screw ups ...... Danny

The coasters are real cool ..... The top belt look good = wish ya had a better angle at the barbed wire stuff .... The bottom belt ..... I would've beveled a border on both sides ...... Other than that, it'll work ........

Hi Dan, I'm Dan too... I'm new here too ..... Sure was a stroke of bad luck, fortunately your recovering .... I'm somewhat the opposite of you = I mess with leatherwork and have been dwelling on doing some forge work .... Perhaps all our dreams will come true .....

BIC Lighter Cases
Oxbo replied to Oxbo's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Oh ..... Yeah ... I used "Backstep" stitching, I like it because one only needs one needle etc ... -
Was messing around this morning and found an old Bic lighter case I made years ago. I used to make them and give them to friends and such. They were great conversation starters, lay your cigarettes and lighter on the table and folks would exclaim "Oh, wow, that's cool, where'd ya get that ...... Everybody wanted one (smokers) = that was in the days when smoking was cool(1984 etc). Well, I still enjoy smoking today, probably'll do it till I die (I'm 72 yrs old) and healthy as a horse = no breathing problems at all ..... Anyway I decided to make up a couple this morning and show the progression steps etc. The Antique I have is left over from back in the day (30 yrs old) = is a bit thick so it doesn't wipe off so well but works somewhat (need to order some more for sure) ..... Have a nice day ... Danny
