I inherited a hatchet / knife combo from my uncle. It was issued to him in Boy Scouts. The knife (6" hunting) fits into a sheath that is combined with the hatchet blade cover. It is in rough shape and I wanted to make a new one to replace it (keeping the old one, just not using it). The snap cover for the hatchet has the BSA logo on it. I don't have a pic to show at the moment, but it is gold and measures roughly 3/8" in diameter. I have scoured the internet and have found nothing. Any suggestions??

One suggestion may be to stay local. There are a couple of artisan shops in my area where I sell my wares. Additionally, there is a western wear shop in my area I contacted. Both shops sell my items on consignment. Yes, it is a bit slower in sales, and you have to have inventory, but is is some revenue. You might also approach local gun shops on a consignment basis. I too have looked at website costs and they do require some up front funds. Maybe go local for a bit then use the proceeds to fund your site.

Nothing better than to receive a handmade item from a friend, or to make one for one of yours. Not only is it a blessing, it helps us continue to get better with our craft. I watched a YT of Chuck Dorsett some time ago about hitting up yard sales and thrift shops to find used purses, etc. and buy them for cheap and take the hardware off and repurpose it. There are some really neat rings and clasps on some of those purses one could use for key chains.

Wow! I have been perusing the site viewing some of the projects an great wisdom regarding leather working. Thanks for taking the time to share you knowledge and experience with us new guys. Several years ago, my adult children bought me a gift certificate to a local leather shop. I have been enjoying it every since. I have a few items listed on Etsy, but most of my projects are for me, my family, or close friends.
