  7. Well now that's just frckn rad. Good job.
  8. My beater, go to strap. Simple, strong, easy replacement. If I get excited, I might stitch some detailing on the edge. Yes, small punches, thin thread. Otherwise -- straps take skill. Personally, I decided long ago, after 10+ hours on straps to take the same sort of skills and repurpose them for bags, wallets, and things that I could bang out quick(er) and sell. And yes, "no, I'm not spending 50$ on a leather wallet -- will make my own" - start of hobby. 10 years later, still going.
  9. Good info. I frankly just never do it - maybe a bit of tokonole and then leave it be. So much trouble! Thanks for the data on how you did it.
  10. Yes to the 'S'
  11. Yes, Chicago screws. (Or stitching)
  12. You have some work ahead of you! Careful you don't take too much off when you are getting the "nicks" out. But once done, will be worth it. It's got good bones. Good luck.
  13. Interested (I think). Questions: 1) How many do you need ? 2) What is the approximate sale cost vs. maker cut ?
  14. Welcome! Enjoy the site/forums. (sorry, I've no advice on machines.)
  15. Yes. ^ well said.
  16. ^ good idea. Work with some and try it out to see what you come up with. Sounds like a particular set of needs, which with testing, you can answer best.
  17. Heck of a commute! Very nice work too, I'm sure it will last.
  18. I'm now very confused. Facing East, thinking about my Zodiac sign ? I tried it - but the dye was still splotchy. As always, thanks ladies and gentlemen.
  19. ha! good advice all around. Agreed, good leather, good result. Thanks!
  20. Just reporting back - used a Preval sprayer for resolene - bit of a trick. Had to cut/thin the resolene, trim the pump straw and get the exact right angle - but it worked and sprayed even and didn't run the paint. Thanks all.
  21. Looks like the leather beneath has a fur coat. And the pricking iron has feet.
  22. Never noticed. Change in cutting surface ?
  23. ^ yes - plenty of people in those smaller sizes. Nice hide, btw.
