  15. What everyone else said. But what I think shines the most is your outside rounded edges bordering your tooling. Very nice job!!
  16. Here' an example of how I interlace the turn back laces at the join. The loop below has masking tape used to creat a even design to put the cover knot on.
  17. I mark a straight line and make sure the crosses always hit the line. It keeps everything straight and on track. Your pull when even, will almost line up every time. some adjustment will occasionally be needed.
  18. I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. I forgot about this post. I don't come to this site very much any more now that I am retired. Here's a book with everything you will need to learn. That will help with turn backs and all kinds of cover knots and sliders and such. There are several books by Hought that are worth investing in. http://www.hought.com/brbooks-romal1.html Just a tip from me. I make my loop and sew the core together about an inch with a small needle and thread. Then I braid into the area that becomes the back braid, and then wrap it with tape to get the shape I want, and then braid the cover knot. Making the shape with the tape shapes the cover knot. It's over kill to some, but I like my turnarounds to hold. Joel
  19. You braid (weave) them into the spot where they come together. I usually braid back about three or four inches. It depends upon the number of laces being used. Then put the cover knot on top. The cover not is just that. A cover knot. Depending upon what knot you use, and how you attach the cover knot it may or may not add strength. I'm assuming you are referring to the turn backs like in my picture below I hope this helps.
  20. If I may, I would suggest that you bevel your lace before you thin it's thickness. And always put in a new sharp blade for the cutting. Wether it be the bevel cut or he thickness cut. That is what I do. Joel
  21. That's some nice consistency you have there! Very clean work. how did you mold the pouches?
  22. Thanks Rhale I'll check them out. im looking for actual baseball glove lacing in vivid colors. If I could get the correct leather I could cut my own. Joel
  23. Hi everyone. I'm looking to do some colored re-lacing of baseball gloves, for the little league teams, and, I need a source for the lace in bulk. I have found sites that will sell the lace in 72" strips. I'd prefer to buy in bulk. can anyone help me out? thanks Joel
  24. Do you use a cover knot on the back braid connecting point?
  25. Mom 'o man! That must have taken forever. Wow, getting all them buttons just alike and perfectly alike is simple amazing. Holly moly you got my admiration. Do you have a market for costly items like that up there in Idaho? Money seems tight here in SOCAL.
