The other day I saw some brass chicago screws on a sling at Sportsmans. Both sides had screwdriver slots. I searched for awhile without success. Does anyone have a source for these?

I have been trying to find the maker of a stamp that makes this impression without any success.

If you put it in the sun all day the whole thing will darken a bit. Maybe it will lessen the spots.

I ask because the socket on the Pull-the-dot snaps isn't round and the pictures I see of the dies for line 24 snaps are round. Will they fit or do they need to be modified? Or is there a set of dies that can be used with the Tandy Press.

I'm curious about the pink holster design. How is it worn?

Does anyone use the Red Tandy Press to set the Dot One-way snaps?

I think mine has slowed down a bit. I also slowed down a bit. We took a three week vacation over Thanksgiving last year, then in May, my father died and I had to go out of state for that. His death, and a few other things put me behind on orders so I didn't take any for a month. I didn't even have time to answer my emails during that time, so I missed a lot of sales.

I just used the Angelus Rose dye to make a pink holster. I cut it 50 percent with denatured alcohol to lighten it a bit.

Thanks for the help. I'll look at the knives suggested and also pick up a pack of hooked blades and try them out.

For the last several years I have been using a Stanley utility knife to cut my holsters out. It works OK, but needs to be stropped frequently. Now, arthritis in my hands is giving me some problems so I am looking for something easier to cut the 7/8 oz Hermann Oak leather I use. I bought a round knife from Tandy Leather, the Al Stolhman brand, but I can't get that thing sharp no matter what I do, and it scares me. Any help is appreciated.

It's interesting. It looks well made, although a little thick.

A customer wants a belt with some fancy looped stitching. I was just wondering if there is a pattern for this type of stitch. I have a machine that will stitch it. I have attached a picture of the belt. After some persual on the site, I know that it is called a western stitch. I didn't have that info before.

I have a similar sized punch from Texas Custom Dies. I currently use a 16 oz hammer but I really need a dead blow mallet. I'll have to try the saddle soap and see how it works. I tried the chisel and hole method but could never get good slots that way.

A customer wants to know if I can make a holster in Charcoal Grey color. It isn't black, but not a regular grey, either. Has anyone done this? I have read that grey dye is a different beast than black dye and they don't play well together. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I tried denatured alcohol and it did nothing. Then I tried Acetone. That removed stuff. I cleaned as much of the outside as I could, then soaked the holster in vinegaroon. There are some spots on the back that aren't black, so I will try to darken those. The holster is still quite stiff, but the inside is a nice black color. I'm not sure what will happen when I try to apply the final finish of Resolene.

What do you mean by that?

I have a holster that got a really messed up dye problem after I put the Resolene on and the only way to salvage it is to dunk it in Vinegaroon. What is the best way to get rid of the Resolene so I can dye this thing black?
