The question I would have is more about dimensional accuracy than "purdy" shapes and colors. They don't seem to be in any particular order.

Angelus makes great stuff. Fiebings makes great stuff. Mixing the two is NOT resulting in great stuff. There will be a couple here shortly to tell you it's the same thing. Lemme just call BULL right now. Not the same, and not great together.

Glock 19 holster with mag pouch
JLSleather replied to Bakyardknives's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Might be just the angle of the photo, but that looks heavier than 6 oz, don't it? But, I DO like well placed stitch lines. I like the gun to be in the same place every time, and at the same angle i put it. A good x-acto will clean up the slots quick 'n' easy. -
Oh, BTW -- I did find somebody selling these in packs of less than 100. Ebay user, service is pretty quick -- but only has #24, #25, occasionally #26. They have been "out of stock" on teh #23's for like 3 years https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Organ-7X4NW-DYX3LL-794LL-Leather-Point-Sewing-Machine-Needles-Singer-Consew/400730390609?var=670274800836

Yeah, i 'git' that. He's cuting to size here, beveling edges later. Bernie didn't do quite that - I was watchin'. BUT WHAT them aussie boys talkin' bout thutty five feet? I thought them down under boys was in meters.... As a former tool maker, gotta wonder why a guy used a chunk of aluminum that big and din't ream a couple hoes for shoulder screws through it holding it down?@!

Yer memry is impressive. Or do I really make that much noise LL point is nice don't like the girly "lacey" slant that comes from LR's, plus they tend to ride higher, don't pull down as nice as LL's. The S is better, but too much "space between" stitches
-
I'm not getting how Bernie guaged his width by cutting the INSIDE of the lace, but.... whatever

Yup. I've ordered good stuff there before, but larger sizes are limited colors - just like everywhere else! As long as I'm complaining, I'm still wondering why it's so tough to get 794 series needles in #23 too.

You're welcome for the pattern. Knowledge? That's a judgment call that will vary depending who you ask Still, you boys 'n' girls let me know if there's other "patterns" you would like to see. Sometimes I have one and my "knowledge" haven't realized people are wanting it, and sometimes I'm meaning to get something designed and might be able to move it up on the list.

Would this be good to use for a stamp
JLSleather replied to PalmieriLeather's topic in Leather Machinery
Oh, maybe should clarify.... that SAME die, with two belt slots added (for example) would be the SAME size, but perhaps 30% more pressure needed due to the increased CUTTING LENGTH. Two slots 1 1/2" long x 5/16" wide would add about 6" more cutting surface to a die the same "size",... so.. this is why I mention this in a question of "how big of a die...." -

JLSleather replied to PalmieriLeather's topic in Leather Machinery
Well, I know YOU know, and I know, but for others who DON"T know...... Different types of "cutting". (blanking, piercing, shearing, etc) but as a simplified rule.... the force required depends on the perimeter of the cut and the thickness of the material and of course how sharp or dull the knife (because it affects the area of the cut...). SO then, I've used this for these palm sized dies in 8 oz leather... got a length of cut of about 16-17". Think single mag pouch. I would think that spreading the force out across the die is more a consideration than the force involved. If you have a plate to cover it, I wouldn't worry about being able to blank out holsters for many autos. Now, a skirted western "bucket" could be an issue,... but that wouldn't' fit in there anyway. Wallets 'n' such, maybe you hit one end, move it over, hit the other end. -

Told ya Don't take up much room in the place neither. I got the bigger press out the shed, but this is nice for the smaller stuff. Quiet operation too. Now it WOULD be nice, think I might pick up the little 1-ton thingie... just to have one that you got the "feel" of the press.. more for snaps n such. -

That listing actually DOES say "burgundy", but maybe they post the wrong pic? That spool looks awful BROWN to me. Maybe I drop em a line and ask if that really the wrong pic?
-
SHOOT! I DID check on it.. and they DO have a "burgundy" and it IS purdy close to the shade I want... then realized it's only in #69! ###$@#%$! I give up.. I got some sort of some shade of brown that isn't drastically noticeable. Yeah, kinda glad they didn't have it... cuz Weaver really did irritate me purdy good... don't care to go back- ever.
-
Nope, no burgundy. 'Preciate the good try though

Who got it? In like a 207, or a 277?

Copying and copyright(ing) 'n' stuff
JLSleather replied to JLSleather's topic in Marketing and Advertising
All that said, my position on copying / appropriating others' content? IF you do something that ANYBODY can do, then don't be surprised when ANYBODY does. Man, tha's good stuff. I really should copyright that ... By the way, same issue but different subject... in the last week or maybe 2, I saw TWO videos (well, parts of em... I couldnt' stomach the whole thing) by TWO DIFFERENT people, each telling me that you can determine where your stitch lines go for your holster pattern by wrapping a piece of leather around the gun. Which is TRUE, you CAN. BUT, Jim Simmons let us all in on that simple point YEARS AGO (in this thread, dated 2009), and I have no doubt that's exactly where these two MUNKYS got the idea. Fair enough, it was clear Mr. Simmons INTENDED you to use that information he provided for free. Woulda been nice, then, if these jackals would have said... "Jim showed me that"... but... nope.- not a word... Incidentally, this is the same way I verify the correct size before I put HOURS in a custom belt for someone. 5.. 4.... 3... (tha's me, counting down to somebody copying that ).
