  1. I didn't think it turned out too bad. It sure takes a lot of hand stitching! I'm still thinking about making a pair of saddlebags, but haven't committed to tackling that yet.
  2. Wow! There’s a lot of work in that rig. Looks good.
  3. Thank you for responding. I was beginning to believe I did something to offend the forum due to the number of views and lack of responses.
  4. I’m thinking about making a pair of throw over saddlebags for my bike. If I make them out of heavy saddle skirting leather, will they be rigid enough that they won’t drag on my brake rotor or drive belt pulley, or would I need some sort of bolt on supports like you get with the cheap store bought bags?
  5. Thank you all for the kind words. It is a Colt Woodsman. My father actually made the grips on it. I hope it doesn’t look antique, as I just made it today. LOL. I wasn’t aware Iver Johnson ever made a semi auto 22 handgun. Interesting!
  6. I haven't been here in quite a while. The weather sucks, so I made a holster today and thought I'd share.
  7. Very nice. Much too nice for a plastic pistol.
  8. I can give you a bit of advice. Lay your handgun on a sheet of posterboard or a file folder and trace it's figure with a pencil. Then, draw the holster around it, allowing enough extra room for the gun's width. Cut it out, lay it over your leather and trace it. Voila, you've made your own pattern. Hope this helps and Merry Christmas, Greg
  9. ....since I've visited here. I still need a LOT of practice and instruction on carving and tooling, but I thought this turned out pretty cool anyway.
  10. This works well for concealing... ...and something like this if you're feeling fancy.
  11. I actually finished this one with paste car wax. I've carried it quite a bit for several years now, and it's seemed to have held up as well as those finished with acrylic.
  12. I think it looks very nice. Did you make it backwards? I'm left handed as well. I would be very proud of a rig like that.
  13. The Luger is a heck of a lot easier than the Ruger 22. It's front sight is a gigantic hook, that will hang on something, no matter what you do.
  14. Cool. I made one last year for a guy who still hasn't paid for it come to think of it. Now I know there are a total of two pancakes for Lugers in existance.
  15. Mine aren't fancy, but I make them from one piece of leather. Fold the belt loop over, glue, and sew. Then fold the front over, glue, and sew. Then I wet mold them to the mag. The one pictured isn't for a doublestack mag, but I think the basic idea would be the same. As others have said, a manilla file folder is good for drawing and cutting out a pattern.
  16. Beautiful! I've found the arrowhead pattern in the basketweave on the belt to be very tedious to execute. You did it well.
  17. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a birthday present for the wife. THANKS!!!!
  18. I love it Mike! You guys give me something to aspire to.
