  1. Try www.riorondo.com, they make miniature saddles and tack that will fit Breyers.
  2. I look forward to seeing whatever they will allow you to post.
  3. Today, I am finishing a belt and suspenders for one customer and starting two Kindle covers for another.
  4. I had trouble seeing those little letter marks for each stamp, especially the smaller ones so I dabbed a small amount of paint or used a permanent marker to identify wish way the stamped should be positioned. This has helped get the stamps in the right position but still have trouble with a straight line. Isn't old age great.
  5. Hello DaleWelcome to the best darn leather forum on the Internet, I'm my opinion. I have been working with leather for over thirty years and thought I knew a thing or two until I stumbled on this site, it is true, old dogs can learn new tricks and this old dog has learned a lot from the great people you will find on this site. Look forward to seeing some of your work.

    Craftool Dates

Hello: I just purchased a new inventory program and want to add my Stamp collection . I have searched this site several times over and cannot find a listing for the ages or manufacturing dates for Craftool stamps. Does anyone have the basic information? I appreciate anyone's assistance. Thanks
  9. Ann:Welcome to best inteernet site for leatherworkers, at least in my opinion. The people here are always willing to answer questions, offer assistance and in some cases tell you when you really messed up but always with the best of intentions. Look forward to seeing some of your work as you progress.
  10. Allxi Welcome to Indiana, the land of ever changing weather. Depending on how long you have been here there is a tornado season coming which is always interesting. Welcome to the best leather site you will find on the net, at least in my opinion. You did not say what you were doing with leather so it is a little difficult to help but if there is anything you need, this site will provide it as long as it deals with leather. Can't wait to see some of your work.
  11. Sorry, I do not see any companies listed to vote or has my coffee not kicked in yet?

    Stamp Kit

I would recommend a trip to a local Tandy store and look at their basic seven tool kit. These are the basic tools for leather craft for beginners. The store manager should be able to help with anything else she might need. Good luck to her, when she gets ome collars done be sure and post them here.
  13. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

Welcome Roc For my two cents, you have found the best web site for leather working on the Internet. While the site is awesome, the people are what make it so. I have been doing leather for 30 years and thought I knew a thing or two until I found this place, seems you can teach an old dog some new tricks. The money it has saved me in the past year prompted me to become a contributing member cause you just can't find this kind of help in a store or books. Anyway, welcome and look forward to seeing some of your work.
  15. Welcome Kevin: With your talent with stone, tooling leather should be very easy. I would recommend "Figure Carving Finesse" and "Pictorial Carving Finesse" by A. Stohlman, in my opinion these are the bibles of that that aspect of leather work. You are correct the labor involved is not conducive to what the market will bear but the love of the craft makes up for it. At least that is what I keep telling myself. Welcome to Leatherworker.net, again in my opinion, the best leather working site on the internet, where you will meet some of the best people in the world. I have tooled leather for 30 years and thought I knew a thing or two but after finding this site I quickly realized an old dog can learn new tricks. Everyone has been great offer suggestions, tips which would have costs several dollars to buy the book. I will get off my soap box and let you decide for yourself, but again welcome and look forward to seeing more of your projects. The saddle bags are fantastic.
  16. By all means, do the tutorial. Some of us out here may know leather working but don't know squat about taking good pictures or the use of Photoshop or GIMP. Any knowledge is helpful, chunks and all. I look forward to reading it.
  17. Hang in there, it can only get better from where you been.
  18. Good move, just proves that sometimes the customer is not always right.
  19. Jimbob I could not agree with you more. I have dealt with Tandy for years as I did not know any better, always thought their product was good until I went from a hobby to a full time leather business. These past few years I have noticed significant changes in the "quality" offered by Tandy. Don't get me wrong I will still buy from them when I need their products but, like you, I am seeking other suppliers, specifically embossed belt blanks. Maybe someone can provide some names of suppliers and we can let Tandy be Tandy.
  20. I became a contributing member (lifetime) a few months past, it just made sense to do so. Considering the money I would have spent to obtain just a bit of the information and assistance I have received from this site and the great people who frequent it, the donation was minor in comparison. If you believe in something, support it.
  21. I'm thankful for all the blessing but a few leather orders would be nice.
