  2. I have a belt sander and also a drill press that i bought at Harbor Freight. Two machines that i could not do without.

  7. cut the leather to shape dye it. assemble the project then wax or apply a finish coat.........pat your self on the back.....

  9. Wacking Stick ? i refer to mine as a Strikeing Stick. I got it at the Hardware Store. they had plenty of Hickory Hammer Handles. works perfect for Beveling and background work O M G. why am i replying to a 3year old topic :brainbleach:
  10. save yourself a lot of $$$$ and frustation. get a small framing square and an Exacto Knife and plenty of Blades. you'll do good.

  17. you'll know if the holes are TOO SMALL. i have used parafin to lube the lace also white saddle soap, i do beleive that Skidmore's would help.... "a little will go a long way"
  18. Ray i'm with Troy on the lace... I will say this If you are lacing a very long pc of lace by the time you get to the end to start a new pc there will be a difference in the two laces.things to look for, are your laceing holes the right size and did you lubricate your lace?
  19. there were two of us in the tent that night ...a lot of rain.after day break it was said that we needed to go to the "Stone House" for the storm to pass. We made it 1/2 way when the Hail started comming down and went to my truck to ride it out. When the Hail quit we could see the Tornado about a 1/2 to the west of us when it touched down then it kept moving to the northeast. short time after that i was out of there.

  21. I did not see the need for a welt in mine. as for as the color, when you line it with the Beeswax the inside will be sealed so you would not be getting a taste of the dye.

  23. round the edge..... sand the rough places then apply the edge coat.thats all you can do for the Latigo
  24. Forgo burnishing Latigo in the way that you would do Veg tan leather.....It Wont Work... round the edges then use Edge Coat.
