Hello.... every body has there own way of doing things, here is mine. I always use Fiebings oil dye.(I was told that Tan-Coat will work the Best for Natural Leather) Then finish with Super Sheen... add a little Aussie , for a mellow shine.

yes you can sew soles onto shoes .........i did. there is a mid sole and an outer sole that is sewn by hand useing a saddle stich. now ,i grant you your shoes might be this shape,but you can do what you asked.

I have a belt sander and also a drill press that i bought at Harbor Freight. Two machines that i could not do without.
