RAY when i have to spend 7 1/2 hours lacing a belt like this i have to use the best lace. now ,i do know that the Kangroo is the Best but there are other lace to buy. Zack White sells a line of Top Quality lace. it states on the role.... PROUDLY MADE IN THE U S A. this is top quality calf lace.....

My Lace Cutter that i bought at Tandy is one of the Handest tools that i have. you have to understand it. Mine will not cut thin deer skin....It will cut med to thick Elk. I have no trouble with veg tan leather, with a sharp blade. WHEN CHAINGING THE BLADE BE CAREFUL.....YOU'LL GET CUT. The best leather for me to cut is chrome tan leather. sorry you are having problems. hope you get it figured out.

I would get it ready for sewing...... Antique it then sew.now the thread will be clean.

have any of you fine folks used or is using the Arbor Press from Harbor Frieght to emboss 3-d stamps with? and were you satisified with it ?

The horse that you are putting it on is a Mare Right... the Head stall turned out looking great.

Another idea. if the legs of the Chaps are large enough take the zippers out and sew the legs up... MAKE STEP IN CHAPS.

here are two of mine. yes i used the Belly Leather and after they were packed with sand i put them in boiling water for a very short period of time. they are very hard.
