    Thanks for the explanation Don. I like the sliding adjustment, nice work and good idea. The biggest two problems I find are getting the impressions square to each other and spaced properly. Kevin.

    Nice work on the base, not quite sure how the fence works. I'm working on an adjustable fence for stamping straps and belts over a poly board.

    For my first wallet I bought a Tandy kit. I traced the leather and the lining and kept the instructions so I can make my own when this one wears out.

    The arbor press works but the working height is limited and you might have to drill out the ram to make it work. With the drill press you can use a large chuck and there is ample room between the table and the chuck.

    The best solution for you would be a drill press with a burnt out motor unless you can find a inexpensive working one.

    If I was making it I would use a liner and install the clip between the leather backing and the liner.

    It looks like someone opened up the cutting groove on the larger one because one side appears wider than the other unless it's just the picture. You might have a difficult time getting an edge back on it but I'm sure it can be done.

    I found a 4 jaw pin vise for $9 including shipping from Amazon so I'll go with that and save my awl haft. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. Kevin.

    Hi Terry; I have that Flat Side Awl Haft from Tandy and I have the round shaft round blade but the diamond blade isn't round but semi round and it doesn't fit my 3 jaw drill chuck in my arbor press and that's why I'm looking for a round shaft diamond blade.

    You could frame them in leather then sew the leather borders trapping them inside.
