Excuse my ignorance but how do these hook on? It seems like there are more curves and bends that are needed. Thanks for explaining. Art -
I like the site Bruce. Great way to showcase your great work. Art

My son came to me earlier in the week and asked me to make a photo album for him to give as a wedding gift. He was laid off a couple of weeks ago so he really didn't have any money for a nice gift. So I rushed this one out the last couple of nights after work. I'm happy with it as I had to rush it out. It's basically a cover for a three ring binder. I was lucky that Wal-mart had their photo pages on sale for $.75 a pack. Good timing for a change. The back is plain with just my logo stamped at the bottom. I made him pay me a dollar for it. I told him that way the gift was from him not me. LOL I used chap leather on the inside. Art

I've just sewn a loop of thread in the back before. I try to make it snug but I sew it just in case it comes loose so I don't loose it. Art The hate band looks great Luke! Art

I found this free website this last weekend. It's very easy to setup a slide show and IT'S FREE. Yawl may already know about it but it's a new one for me. Art http://www.slide.com/r/kbn_K2KV7z-CnoK8YSq...p;view=original

Scrunchy leather texturing :(
ArtS replied to BOOMSTICKHolsters's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Although it is the same hide what part of the hide is the wrinkled one coming from? Remember that different parts of the hide have different characteristics to it. As you move closer to the neck, belly and legs you will get more leather that will look like the culprit. That's why different saddle parts have to be cut from certain hide parts. Art -
Thanks, Art

Great work. That skill comes in handy with your leather work. You can make your own conchos and bling. Beautiful buckle! Art

First holster and need advice
ArtS replied to JoelR's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
They taught you well in the BSs. You did an excellent job on this. I'm going to have to try one of those space bags. I use several things to burnish edges. When you start wet them first so they will lay down. For the slots I use a deer antler. It works great. You can also use this on other parts. If you have a very smooth handle with rounded edges you can use that to smooth out the nail marks. Any smooth piece of hard wood can work out for smoothing them out. I also use a piece Cordura or Denim and rub the edges with that. After I dye it sometimes I'll rub some wax on the edges and rub them down. Hope this helps. Art -
Great work Josh. I'm proud of you. Art
