  3. Well, it was a good trip. Right downtown,LA in the garment district. The location I went to was what I call a "store front" - really a small office on the 10th floor of an old skyrise - not a warehouse as shown in one of the pix. The fellow there was very nice but was not familiar with veggie tan so I left him a sample so maybe he will have next time. They had a lot in the storefront - many colors and types and sizes as noted in the ad. The $1 price really was for scrap pieces (1 to 2sq ft) the others were $2.50/ft which is still a good deal. I bought several colors that I will likely make some small purses and bags and even use for inlays. I may post pix later.

  5. I'be been getting a few errors too. When I log out I get errors and when I try to download something I get various script errors. Not sure if it is this site or Firefox.. A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Patterns

I suppose it depends on your level of artistry. I primarily use designs/patterns from various sources and kits and use the basic stamp set to "create" them. I do have several 3d stamps but do not use them very much. If you are the "artsy" type then you will likely create your own designs to transfer then use the basic tool set to "create" the image on the leather. Keep looking around here as there are many topics that answer your questions and you will develop your niche. The "basic" set of stamps is enough to do quite a few designs. Once you are comfortable with those, then you may decide to get more.
  7. I think I would remove the leather from the sofa first and most any leather cleaning product would work. Is there particular stains that you are concerned about?
