  1. Unfortionatly your poll is flawed. It does not matter what % you are offering, if it does not cover minimum wage it is not enough.
  2. About a gallon of very hot water and a bottle of elmers white glue. Case it like you are soing to wet mold it (totally saturate it with) and let it dry. Force dry it with light heat, the oven on the lowest setting and the oven door open to the first click.
  3. LEAVE THE GUY ALONE! This is a for sale add. He listed a price. If it is too much do not buy it. If it is too little buy it quickly. He asked no one what it was worth. It is not a critique my tool add, it is a for sale add. It is no wonder people are reluctant to post prices on here. You guys should be ashamed. Aaron
  4. bump
  5. I have a large number of clicker dies. These are from a printing shop, very similar to how they are made for leather. They work well with leather. If you do not have a clicker press, they work in a shop press with a solid plate above and below them. Put a plate in the press. Next a poly cutting board. Then the leather. Then a die. Then the top plate. Squish in the press and presto- perfectly cut shapes. I have a lot of these in many random sizes. It will be overwealming if I try to list each one separate. Here is the deal. You paypal me $25 and I will send you 10 random sizes, small to large. If you want to be picky then the price will go up (this is $2.50 each!). State round or rectangular. Aaron
  6. That looks way better than solid brown. I like it.
  7. Chan Geer is going to be teachjing in Portland Oregon Sept 5-9, 2012. The first day will be wallet interior layout and design. The next 3 days will be the design and construction of a portfolio (pic attached). The 4 days will be $325, materials will be included. Bring your own tools, share with others or buy tools at the class. This class is good for anyone with basic skill to advanced, strongly geared to intermediate. The class will be held at Oregon Leather. If interested please contact me. A $50 deposite will reserve a spot in the class. Aaron
  8. The 609 is a pricking iron, not a chisel. You co behind it with an awl. Look at the goodsjapan website. I can not recoment strong enough the pliers style punches. Aaron

  10. You do not need it. It is a lubricant so that you can cut easier.
  11. Other issues aside, goodsjapan sells awsome-great tools! Good value and better quality than most at any price. It is shamefull that no one here in the US is selling the tools they have. The lacing nippers are one of the best tools ever made. Their pricking irons are great quality at a good price. Aaron
  12. You need to have an air gap between the pipe and your leather.
  13. Fiebings red dye diluted with alchol makes a nearly florescent pink. I made a couple things this color, did not document the color though as people would have had proof I did it. Aaron
  14. Likely better to tool than most of what they sell now. I would rub some Lexol on it and try tooling it. Aaron
  15. It works way better thinned. I have it in a brush can and add thinner to the can. Aaron
  16. I ment that the sides of the couch, the rear, the front lower, etc are vinyl. Not that the leather is backed with vinyl. Visably, good quality vinyl is hard to look at and tell from leather. I would be surprised if the leather is backed, most auto seats I have taken apart are not. Aaron
  17. Remember that most couches are only leather on the tops of the cushons. The rest is vinyl.
  18. I had no theard of walking dead till a couple weeks ago. I boght the series and watched it all. It is an interesting show too. i work for a Public Works shop and the director is all convinced the world is coming to an end, everything now has to be about the end of world.
  19. I have seen them all up to the current season. I don't get it on TV so I have to wait till it is out on video. The series has taken a number of twists since it strated. Really a sad and intense show when you think about what has happened in his life since taking the direction he chose.
  20. Tandy salls a few complete pattern sets. Should be exactly what you are looking for.
  21. If it is not flat all of your tools will fall on the floor. Aaron
  22. While trying not to sound too harsh: You really need to practice stamping straight. Looking through the site it looks like the lettering is crocked on everything (to me, crocked work is reject and I redo it straight). Aaron
  23. I like teaching short classes best. Knife sheath, sewing/lacing, carving, tool sharpening, etc. Set them up so that the person can attend one or two, or all of them. My biggest sugestion is to tell them what to do! Do not allow three patterns to be carved durring a carving class, you hand them the pattern you are teaching. If people go off in differant direction it really causes confusion. Aaron
