Getting cold. Up goes the passive solar heater today. Wish I had a heater in the workshop.
-
yeah, i hear you about the cold...it's gotten down to the 40s a few times

It's a passive solar heater that I threw together last year from styro foam and a hunk of aluminum siding it sits inside my south facing front window. Check your PM, I'll send you pics from last year.

Worried about those who live in the path of the Frankenstorm. Hope you are prepared.
-
Yeah, I have had that happen to me too... Now I usually check after posting

Jack, I didn't rush out and get anything, just filled some jugs with water and coffee (gotta have my caffeine) but I know we're going to get something. This time of year it's time we at least had some snow

It is not theories any more. I know people that lives on Svalbard, It is never been that litle ice as it is now. This summer you could cross the North pole with a ship http://www.ottawacitizen.com/technology/rotten+North+Pole+scientist/7282731/story.html. I have seen on video too. All this water has to come back as rain and heavy weather. I am sorry to say we are past the theories now.

Anyone else having issues with the forum's new colors ie: Grey on Brown, Grey on Pinky beige? It makes my eyes cross.
-
NEVER touch "change theme". I did, too, and had to go on my PHONE, log on, change it back. Once you change it on the pc, you don't have an option to get it back... and you can't see any forum info, etc. etc. Nightmare.
-
Yep, me too on the change theme. Johanna. My main issue with the colors is the lack of contrast. All you have to do is either darken the brown, so the grey shows up in the menue... and just darken the grey text, (or bold) on the pinky beige. Those of us with older eyes (and there are a lot of us here) need contrast to see.
-
I struggle too - can only handle about 10 minutes before the headache starts. The grey text is an eye-killer, but like the beige background MUCH better. Gobs of white space are hard on the ol eyes.
